Answer;

-Acceleration: 10 km/h/s east

Explanation;

-The quantity is either a vector or a scalar. Scalars are quantities that are fully described by a magnitude (or numerical value) alone while Vectors are quantities that are fully described by both a magnitude and a direction.

Acceleration is a vector quantity that is defined as the rate at which an object changes its velocity. An object is accelerating if it is changing its velocity.

In this case , a =( v-u)/t ; where a is the acceleration, v is the final velocity, u is the initial velocity and t is time.

      a = (60 - 0)/6

         = 10 km/h/s

How many moles of sodium carbonate contain 1.773 × 1017 carbon atoms?
vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

  • 2.941 × 10⁻¹⁷ mol

Explanation:

1) Chemical formula of sodium carbonate: Na₂CO₃

2) Ratio of carbon atoms:

  • The number of atoms of C in the unit formula Na₂CO₃ is the subscript for the atom, which is 1 (since it is not written).

Hence, the ratio is 1 C atom / 1 Na₂CO₃ unit formula.

This is, there is 1 atom of carbon per each unit formula of sodium carbonate.

3) Calculate the number of moles in 1.773 × 10⁷ carbon atoms

  • Divide by Avogadro's number: 6.022 × 10²³ atoms / mol

  • number C moles  = 1.773 × 10⁷ atoms / (6.022 × 10²³ atoms/mol)

  • number C moles = 2.941 × 10⁻¹⁷ mol

Since, the ratio is 1: 1, the number of moles of sodium carbonate is the same number of moles of carbon atoms.

Identify the effect of increasing acidity on the solubility of the given compounds.
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

All the given compounds are basic on acidifying their solubility increases.

Explanation:

  • C a_{3}\left(P O_{4}\right)_{2} solubility will increase, since it is basic in nature, on acidifying solubility increases.
  • F e S being basic on acidification, the solubility increases.
  • M g C O_{3} is alkaline in nature, it gets neutralized and there is no increase in acidity.
  • M g B r_{2} is a salt and it shows no effect on acidification.
  • A g I is a salt but insoluble in water and shows no effect on acidification.
  • M g(O H)_{2} is strongly basic in nature, on acidifying the solubility increases.
