Answer:

Concentration of Flourine = 24.756%

Explanation:

Given that :

High-density polyethylene may be flourinated by inducing the random substitution of Flourine atoms for hydrogen.

the objective is to determine he concentration of Flourine (in wt%) that must be added if this substitution occurs for 12% of all the original hydrogen atoms.

At standard conditions , the atomic weight of the these compounds are as follows:

Carbon = 12.01 g/mol

Chlorine = 35.45 g/mol

Fluorine = 19.00 g/mol

Hydrogen = 1.008 g/mol

Oxygen = 16.00 g/mol

The chemical formula for polyethylene = (CH₂ - CH₂)ₙ

Therefore, for two carbons, there will be 4 hydrogens;

i.e

(CH₂ - CH₂)₂

( C₂H₄ - C₂H₄ )

Suppose the number of original hydrogen = 4moles

number of moles of Flourine F = 12% of 4

= 0.12 × 4

= 0.48 mol

∴ the number of remaining moles of Hydrogen is:

= 4 - 0.48

= 3.52 moles

number of moles of Carbon = 2 moles

∴ the mass of flourine F = number of moles of F × molar mass of F

= 0.48 × 19

= 9.12

The total mass of the compound now is = (0.48 × 19 ) + (3.52 × 1) + (2× 12)

= 9.12 + 3.52 + 24

= 36.64

Concentration of Flourine = (mass of flourine/total mass) × 100

Concentration of Flourine = (9.12/36.84 ) × 100

Concentration of Flourine = 0.24756 × 100

Concentration of Flourine = 24.756%

the subatomic particles contained within an atom of the element

the distribution of electrons in the orbitals of its atomstal

Element 16 i sulfur

As element 16, it has 16 protons

The neutral atom then also has 16 electrons.

the electrons are b the 1s orbital      2e

                                      2s orbital     2e

                                      2p orbitals   6e

                                      3s orbital     2e

                                      3p orbitals   4e

(note 4 electrons in the 3p orbitals means 4 electrons in the "p" shaped orbitals at the 3rd energy level from the nucleus.

The electronic configuration for sulfur is written as

1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p4

and can be obtained from a proper reading of the periodic table

A 100.0-mL sample of 1.00 M NaOH is mixed with 50.0 mL of 1.00 M H2SO4 in a large Styrofoam coffee cup calorimeter fitted with a
worty [1.4K]

Answer:

THE ENTHALPY CHANGE IN KJ/MOLE IS +114 KJ/MOLE.

Explanation:

Heat = mass * specific heat capacity * temperature rise

Total volume = 100 + 50 = 150 mL

Total mass = density * volume

Total mass = 1 * 150 mL = 150 g

So therefore, the heat evolved during the reaction is:

Heat = 150 * 4.18 * ( 31.4 - 22.3)

Heat = 150 * 4.18 * 9.1

Heat = 5705.7 J

Equation for the reaction:

2 NaOH(aq) + H2SO4(aq) → Na2SO4(aq) + 2 H2O(l)

From the equation, 2 moles of NaOH reacts with 1 mole of H2SO4 to produce 1 mole of Na2SO4 and 2 moles of water

50 mL of 1 M of H2SO4 contains

50 * 1 / 1000 mole of acid

= 0.05 mole of acid

The production of 1 mole of water evolved 5705.7 J of heat and hence the enthalpy changein kJ per mole will be:

0.05 mole of H2SO4 produces 5705.7 J of heat

1 mole of H2SO4 will produce 5705.7 / 0.05 J

= 114,114 J / mole

In kj/mole = 114 kJ/mole.

Hence, the enthalpy change of the reaction in kJ /mole is +114 kJ/mole.

An atom that has 13 protons and 15 neutrons is an isotope of the element? How can I count it?
Diano4ka-milaya [45]
It's simple.
the number of protons in an atom never changes. And also, the no of protons is its atomic number.if you look up the periodic table, you will find a number on the top - left corner of each of the boxes. This is the atomic number.No 2 same elements on the periodic table have the same atomic number. So, all you have to do is search for a box that has the number 13 on it.

and by the way ... the element which you're searching for is Aluminium

2. Magnesium Phosphide = Mg₃P₂

3. Rubidium Chromate = Rb₂CrO₄

4. Aluminium nitrate = Al(NO₃)₃

5. Ammonium Arsenide = (NH₄)₃As

6. Nickel(ii) nitrite = Ni(NO₂)₂

7. Copper(i)sulfate = Cu₂SO₄

8. Iron(iii)nitrate = Fe(NO₃)₃

9. Manganese(ii)nitrate = Mn(NO₃)₂

The left hand side are the common names when the right hand side are the chemical formula.

A meal containing a burger, fries, and a milkshake contains 53.0 grams of fat, 38.0 grams of protein, and 152 grams of carbohydr
RSB [31]

Answer:

286 minutes

Explanation:

Given the content of fat in a meal= 53g

the content of protien in a meal= 38g

the content of carbohydrate in a meal= 152g

Also given that fuel value of protien = 17 KJ/g

the fuel value of fat = 38 KJ/g

the fuel value of carbohydrate = 17 KJ/g

Now to burn all the molecules the energy recquired is content of molecule times the fuel value.

the energy recquired to burn fat = 53\times 38=2014KJ

the energy recquired to burn protien = 38\times 17=646KJ

the energy recquired to burn carbohydrate =152 \times 17=2584KJ

The total energy=2014+646+2584=5244KJ

The energy spent on swimming is 1100KJ/hour

for 1 hour 1100 KJ are spent

to spend 5244 KJ of energy the time taken is = \frac{5244}{1100}=4.76hours

We know 1 hour=60 minutes

The total time = 4.76\times 60=286minutes
