A particle executes simple harmonic motion with an amplitude of 2.18 cm.
Bogdan [553]

Answer:

The positive displacement from the midpoint of its motion at the speed equal one half of its maximum speed is 3.56 cm.

Explanation:

Maximum speed is  :

                          v (max) = Aω

Speed v at any displacement y is given by

v^{2} = w^{2} (A^{2} - y^{2})   ........................................................  i

And,

               v = \frac{1}{2} v (max)

          or,  2 × v = Aω     ....................................................   ii

Eliminating  ω from equations i and ii,

                       \frac{1}{4} A^{2}  w^{2}  =  w^{2}  ( A^{2}  - y^{2})

                     or, y^{2} =  (\frac{3}{4}) A^{2}  =(\frac{3}{4}) 2.18^{2}

                    or,  y =  3.56 cm.

Art [367]
The time that the car take to catch up to truck would be :

1/2 ar^2  = vt

1/2 (3) t^2 = 15t

1.5  t^2  =  15t

t ^2    =   10s

Hope this helps

1<br> Verify the identity. Show your work.<br><br> cot θ ∙ sec θ = csc θ
Fittoniya [83]
To verify the identity, we can make use of the basic trigonometric identities:
cot θ = cos θ / sin θ
sec θ = 1 / cos <span>θ
csc </span>θ = 1 / sin θ<span>

Using these identities:
</span>cot θ ∙ sec θ = (cos θ / sin θ ) (<span> 1 / cos </span><span>θ)
</span>
We can cancel out cos <span>θ, leaving us with
</span>cot θ ∙ sec θ = 1 / sin θ
cot θ ∙ sec θ = = csc <span>θ</span>
