If you would like to know how much 1 oz costs, you can calculate this using the following steps:

32 oz ... $6
1 oz ... $x = ?

32 * x = 6 * 1
32 * x = 6
x = 6 / 32
x = $0.1875

The correct result would be $0.1875.

A trail around a lake is 4 1/4 miles long. What is the length, in feet, of the trail?
Allisa [31]
1 mile= 5280 feet
1/5280= 4.25/x This is a proportion.
5280 * 4.25= 22440
22440/1= 22440

4 1/4 miles= 22440 feet

Hope this helps! :D

I need help on understanding this concept
Sedbober [7]
So the slope formula is m= (y2-y1) /
(x2-x1). You can label -2 as x1 and 11 as y1. And the other point is x2 and y2. They you just plug it in the m= (y2-y1) /
(x2-x1) formula and solve. To get a better understanding look up, how to find the slope of a line with two points. Hope it helps

How many whole numbers are between 1 and 50 that are divisible by 2?
kupik [55]

Answer:

25

Step-by-step explanation:

The first number in the range 1 - 50 that is divisible by 2 is 2 itself.  Then 4, 6, 8, ....

Here's one way to think and count:

2 \rightarrow 1\\4 \rightarrow 2\\6 \rightarrow 3\\8 \rightarrow 4\\\vdots\\50\rightarrow 25

In the table, the number on the right is <u>half</u> the number on the left.  The numbers on the right are just counting numbers (natural numbers), so there are 25 even numbers between 1 and 50.

Solving Rational Inequalities and use sign diagram to sketch the graph. Image attached for better understanding.

Answer:

x ∈ (-∞ , -2) ∪ (1, 3)

Step-by-step explanation:

The expression is already factored. Note that for the polynomial that appears in the numerator (x-3)(x + 2) there are 2 roots:

x = 3\\x = -2

For the polynomial that appears in the denominator there is 1 root:

x = 1

Note that x = 1 does not belong to the domain of f(x) because it zeroes the denominator of the function and the division between zero is not defined.

With these three roots we do the study of signs to find out when f(x)

Observe the attached image

Note that:

(x-3) when x

(x + 2) when x

(x-1) when x

Finally, we have the solution:

x ∈ (-∞ , -2) ∪ (1, 3)
