How can you tell states of matter apart?

Chemistry

You can tell them apart from its form.

If it forms loose and needs like a container to hold it up, that's liquid.

If it is hard and stable, definitely a solid.

And if you barely see something very loose (and normally goes up), that's liquid.

If you had 240 L container at 479 k and 300 kpa, what would the volume be if you changed the conditions to STP
nydimaria [60]

Answer:

The answer to your question is V2 = 434.7 l

Explanation:

Data

Volume 1 = V1 = 240 l                             Volume 2 = ?

Temperature 1 = T1 = 479°K                   Temperature 2 = T2 = 293°K

Pressure 1 = P1 = 300 KPa                      Pressure 2 = P2 = 101.325 Kpa

Process

1.- Use the combined gas law to solve this problem

                P1V1/T1 = P2V2/t2

-Solve for V2

               V2 = P1V1T2 / T1P2

2.- Substitution

                V2 = (300)(240)(293) / (479)(101.325)

3.- Simplification

                V2 = 21096000 / 48534.675

4.- Result

                V2 = 434.7 l

To make a solution of lemonade, lemon juice and sugar are dissolved in water. the water is the ______ in this example.
vova2212 [387]

To make a solution of lemonade, lemon juice and sugar are dissolved in water. the water is the Solvent in this example.

Solvent Examples. Common examples of solvents consist of water, ethanol, methanol, and acetone. The term 'solvent' may be defined as a substance that has the ability to dissolve a given solute to form a solution with it.

Solvents are substances that are used to dissolve the solutes used in the formulation. These solutes can be solids, liquids, or gaseous in nature. Thus solvents are used to get a solution upon interacting the solute with a suitable solvent.

Solvents are usually, however not usually, liquids. They can also be gases or solids. The material dissolved in the solvent is referred to as the solute. collectively, the solvent and solute comprise the solution.

Calculate the hydrogen-ion concentration [H+] for the aqueous solution in which [OH–] is 1 x 10–11 mol/L. Is this solution acidi
valina [46]
(H+)(OH-) = Kw
kw=  1 x10^-14
OH-=  1   x10 ^-11
(H+)=  KW / OH-

concentration   of H+  = (1x10^-14) /.(1  x 10 ^-11)   =  1  x10  ^-3

Ph=  -log (H+)

PH=-log (  1  x  10  ^-3)  =  3  therefore  the    solution  is  acidic  since  the  PH   less than  7
