Answer:

v=51.9

Explanation:

The velocity on a string is:

v=\sqrt{\frac{T}{\mu}} (1)

with T the tension of the string and μ its linear density. By Newton's first law for a uniform string, the tension is the force applied in one extreme of the string, in this case it is the weight attached to it so T=W=mg. Using that on (1):

v=\sqrt{\frac{mg}{\mu}}=\sqrt{\frac{(329g)(9.81\frac{m}{s^{2}})}{1.2\frac{g}{m}}}

v=51.9 \frac{m}{s}

You are in a hot air balloon, 350 m above the flat Texas plains. You look out toward the horizon. How far out can you see--that
pshichka [43]
Refer to the diagram shown below.

x =  the distance (horizon) that you can see from the balloon,

Because the radius of the earth is 6400 km, and the balloon is 350 n above the earth's surface, therefore
h = 6400 + 0.350 = 6400.35 km.

From the Pythagorean theorem, obtain
x = √(6400.35² - 6400²) = 66.934 km

Answer: Your horizon is  66.934 km (or 66,934 m)

How long does it take for a dropped rock to fall from a height of 8 meters
seropon [69]

Answer:

1.28 s

Explanation:

Given:

Δy = 8 m

v₀ = 0 m/s

a = 9.8 m/s²

Find: t

Δy = v₀ t + ½ at²

(8 m) = (0 m/s) t + ½ (9.8 m/s²) t²

t = 1.28 s
