two forces equal in magnitude and opposite in direction act at the same point on an object. is it possible for there to be a net

If the forces are equal, at a distance equidistant it is not possible to act a pair on the body since both torques cancel each other. Being of the same magnitude and in the opposite direction, the sum of the torques will be zero.

A motorcycle, which has an initial linear speed of 9.8 m/s, decelerates to a speed of 2.2 m/s in 3.4 s. Each wheel has a radius
miss Akunina [59]

Answer:

The angular acceleration and angular displacement is -2.24\ m/s^2 and 31.34 rad .

Explanation:

Given :

Initial linear speed , u = 9.8 m/s .

Final speed , v = 2.2 m/s .

Time taken , t = 3.4 s .

Radius of wheel , r = 0.65 m .

So , decelerates of wheel is given by :

v-u=at\\2.2-9.8=a\times 3.4\\a=-2.24\ m/s^2

Therefore , angular velocity is given by :

\omega=\dfrac{a}{r}\\\\\omega=\dfrac{-2.24}{0.65}\\\\\omega =-3.45\ rad/s^2

Now , linear displacement is :

s=ut+\dfrac{at^2}{2}\\\\s=9.8\times 3.4+\dfrac{-2.24\times 3.4^2}{2}\\\\s=20.37\ m

Therefore , angular displacement is :

d=\dfrac{s}{r}\\\\d=\dfrac{20.37}{0.65}\\\\d=31.34\ rad

Hence , this is the required solution .

in your own words provide two advantages of using meters as a measurement of length rather than old measurements of length such
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

First, the meters is the unit used in almost all the world today.

Then using meters as your unit will be easier to read and interpret for a larger number of people than if you use an older system, like hands or steps.

And because of the fact that almost all the world uses the meter as the unit for length, almost all the equations and formulas are written in meters.

Precision: The meter is exactly defined as:

"The length of the path traveled by light in a vacuum in 1/299,792,458 of a second"

So the meter is an exact (and accepted) unit.

Then using this unit for measures of length also provides some " legitimacy" for you measure.

Nancy rides her bike with a constant
Sloan [31]

Answer:

2 and a half hours

Explanation:

Nancy rides her bike at 10 miles per hour. After the first hour, she would have ridden 10 miles. After the second hour, she would hvae ridden 20 miles. She needs to ride 5 more miles, which is half of her 10 miles that she rides every hour. Since it is half of her speed of miles per hour, it will take her another half an hour to ride the 5 miles. Added together, Nancy takes 2 and a half hours.

Ram jumps onto a cement floor from a height of 1m and comes to rest in 0.1sec.
umka2103 [35]

Answer:

3/10 F.

Explanation:

Height ( h ) = 1m

Time taken ( t ) = 0.1 second

Height² ( h² ) = 9m

Time taken² ( t² ) = 1 second

Solution,

F = ma

= m ( v - u ) / t

= m √2gh / t

now,

F/F² = √h/h² × t/t²

F¹ = 3/10 F.
