The grams   of  barium that  are in  2.3 x 10^23  atoms of barium  is  52.4 g (answer C)

   <em><u> calculation</u></em>

<em><u> </u></em> mass = moles  of Ba  x molar  mass of Ba

  molar mass of Ba from periodic table=  137.3 g/mol

  • <em>   </em>use the  Avogadro's law  constant  to  calculate the moles of Barium

 that  is     1 mole =  6.02  x 10^23 atoms

                    ? moles = 2.3 x 10^23  atoms

by cross  multiplication

=(1 mole  x 2.3x 10^23 atoms)  / 6.02  x10^23 atoms)=  0.382  moles

mass  is therefore = 137.3  g/mol x 0.382 mol = 52.4 ( answer C)

N= number of molecules
n= 2.3x10^23/6.022x10^23
  = 0.381 mol

Now,
M= molar mass in g/mol
m= mass in grams
m=nxM
   =0.381 molx137 g/mol
   = 52.197g

So, the correct answer should be C

Cellulose could provide an abundant and cheap form of glucose for humans. Why is cellulose not a source of nutrients for humans?
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

Option (c).

Explanation:

Cellulose is one of the most important carbohydrate of the plant that provide structural framework to the plant cells. Cellulose is made of the monomer of the glucose that are linked through the beta glycosidic linkages.

Although cellulose contains large number of glucose but it cannot be used as the nutrient source for humans. Humans and other vertebrates lacks the enzyme cellulase that is required for the digestion of cellulose. Cellulose cannot be broken down in the human body.

Thus, the correct answer is option (c).

8. Thermal Energy is?
Burka [1]

Thermal energy is the sum of the kinetic and potential energy of all the particles in an object. The figure shows that if either potential or kinetic energy increases, thermal energy increases.

The question is below
rodikova [14]
The anode is the electrode where the oxidation occurs.

Cathode is the electrode where the reducction occurs.

Equations:

  Mn(2+) + 2e-  --->  Mn(s)                      Eo = - 1.18 V
2Fe(3+) + 2e-  ----> 2 Fe(2+)                2Eo = + 1.54 V

The electrons flow from the electrode with the lower Eo to the electrode with the higher Eo yielding to a positive voltage.

Eo = 1.54 V - (- 1.18) = 1.54 + 1.18 = 2.72

Answer: 2.72 V

What would happen to the rate of a reaction with rate law rate = k [NO]^2[H2] if
Ede4ka [16]

The rate of a reaction would be one-fourth.

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Given

Rate law-r₁ = k [NO]²[H2]

Required

The rate of a reaction

Solution

The reaction rate (v) shows the change in the concentration of the substance (changes in addition to concentrations for reaction products or changes in concentration reduction for reactants) per unit time.

Can be formulated:

Reaction: aA ---> bB

\large{\boxed{\boxed{\bold{v~=~-\frac{\Delta A}{\Delta t}}}}

or

\large{\boxed{\boxed{\bold{v~=~+\frac{\Delta B}{\Delta t}}}}

The concentration of NO were halved, so the rate :

\tt r_2=k[\dfrac{1}{2}No]^2[H_2]\\\\r_2=\dfrac{1}{4}k.[No]^2[H_2]\\\\r_2=\dfrac{1}{4}r_1
