The grams   of  barium that  are in  2.3 x 10^23  atoms of barium  is  52.4 g (answer C)

   <em><u> calculation</u></em>

<em><u> </u></em> mass = moles  of Ba  x molar  mass of Ba

  molar mass of Ba from periodic table=  137.3 g/mol

  • <em>   </em>use the  Avogadro's law  constant  to  calculate the moles of Barium

 that  is     1 mole =  6.02  x 10^23 atoms

                    ? moles = 2.3 x 10^23  atoms

by cross  multiplication

=(1 mole  x 2.3x 10^23 atoms)  / 6.02  x10^23 atoms)=  0.382  moles

mass  is therefore = 137.3  g/mol x 0.382 mol = 52.4 ( answer C)

N= number of molecules
n= 2.3x10^23/6.022x10^23
  = 0.381 mol

Now,
M= molar mass in g/mol
m= mass in grams
m=nxM
   =0.381 molx137 g/mol
   = 52.197g

So, the correct answer should be C

A 52.0 mL portion of a 1.20 M solution is diluted to a total volume of 278 mL. A 139 mL portion of that solution is diluted by a
RoseWind [281]

Answer:

C_3=0.125M

Explanation:

Hello!

In this case, we can divide the problem in two steps:

1. Dilution to 278 mL: here, the initial concentration and volume are 1.20 M and 52.0 mL respectively, and a final volume of 278 mL, it means that the moles remain the same so we can write:

V_1C_1=V_2C_2

So we solve for C2:

C_2=\frac{C_1V_1}{V_2}=\frac{52.0mL*1.20M}{278mL}\\\\C_2=0.224M

2. Now, since 111 mL of water is added, we compute the final volume, V3:

V_3=139+111=250mL

So, the final concentration of the 139 mL portion is:

C_3=\frac{139 mL*0.224M}{250mL}\\\\C_3=0.125M

Best regards!

Answer:

below

Explanation:

1. The areas that have latitudes which are closer to the equator are generally hotter than those areas that are closer to the north and south poles.

2. Temperature is inversely related to latitude, as latitude increases from the equator (moving north or south) the temperature decreases.

Hope this helps! best of luck <3
