chemical combination of two or more elements in definite proportions. For example, two hydrogen molecules + one oxygen molecule= one water molecule. A solution is a physical combination of two or more chemicals mixed evenly (salt that is dissolved in water). Solutions are also known as homogenous mixtures. A mechanical mixture is a physical combination of two or more chemicals that are not evenly mixed (hot fudge on ice cream).

What is the name of the society that scientist form to bring about use one universal system of measurements? (Please hurry)
Katarina [22]

The International Bureau of Weights and Measures is the society that scientist form to bring about one universal system of measurements.

Explanation:

Every theoretical assumptions should be proved experimentally and for that we need a specific system to measure or quantify parameters used in those experiments or the outcome results variables.

The measurements of length should be done by measuring them in meters only and not by liters. The physical properties of every materials should have a particular way of measuring them and this is decided by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures.

They also decide the units of each measurements and the standardization of each units and weights are also done by this society.

The diameter of a cream-filled cookie is approximately 44 millimeters (mm). An atom of bismuth (Bi) is approximately 320. picome
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

1.4e+8 bismuth atoms

Explanation:

If 10³ mm = 10¹² pm

then 44 mm = X pm

X = (44 × 10¹²) / 10³ = 44 × 10⁹ pm (which is the cookie diameter in picometers)

Now we can calculate the number of bismuth atoms needed to span the diameter of the cookie:

number of bismuth atoms = cookie diameter / bismuth atom diameter

number of bismuth atoms = 44 × 10⁹ / 320 = 0.1375 × 10⁹ atoms = 1.375 × 10⁸ atoms

And now to respect the answer format requested by the problem:

1.375 × 10⁸ = 1.375e+8 ≈ 1.4e+8

What characteristics of sodium and chlorine atoms allow them to form the stable compound sodium chloride, Also known as table sa
katrin2010 [14]
Atoms 'like' to have 8 valence electrones. sodium has one electron 'in excess' and chlorine 'lacks' in one. so they just exchange :) both are happy. then the ionic bond is formed because chlorine is now charged negative (additional electron) and sodium is charged positive (gave up one electrone) - the opposite charges cause electrostatic pull. many atoms, many bonds and thats how salt is built.
