-2x + y = 8
y = 2x + 8
now sub in 2x + 8 for y in the other equation
3x + 2y = 2
3x + 2(2x + 8) = 2...distribute the 2 thru the parenthesis
3x + 4x + 16 = 2
7x = 2 - 16
7x = - 14
x = -14/7
x = -2
now sub -2 in for x in either equation to find y
-2x + y = 8
-2(-2) + y = 8
4 + y = 8
y = 8 - 4
y = 4

solution is : (-2,4)

babunello [35]

Spinner has three colors: red, green and yellow; coin has two sides: head or tail.

The sample space: {red - head; red - tail; green - head; green - tail; yellow - head; yellow - tail}. In total there are 6 ways to combine different colors with coin sides.

The probability that the result is green - tail is 1/6.

Find the distance between (-4,3,-6) and the origin ((X,Y,Z) Graph)
devlian [24]

The distance between  (-4,3,-6) and the origin is \sqrt{61

<h3>How to determine the distance?</h3>

The point is given as:

(x, y, z) = (-4,3,-6)

The origin is

(x, y, z) = (0,0,0)

The distance between the point and the origin is calculated as:

d = \sqrt{x^2 + y^2 + z^2

So, we have:

d = \sqrt{(-4)^2 + (3)^2 + (-6)^2

Evaluate

d = \sqrt{61

Hence, the distance between  (-4,3,-6) and the origin is \sqrt{61

Answer:

y = (x - 3)² - 4      Vertex form

(3, -4)    Vertex

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = x² - 6x + 5

Complete the square

y = (x - 3)² + 5 - (-3)²

y = (x - 3)² + 5 - 9

y = (x - 3)² - 4      Vertex form

(3, -4)    Vertex
