Answer:

The number of Girls players in the Team of 18 players is 6 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The total number of player including boys and girls = 18

And \frac{1}{2} times girls player +  \frac{1}{3} times boys player = 7

Let The number of boys player = B

The number of girls player = G

So, According to question

G + B = 18      ...1

\frac{1}{2} × G +  \frac{1}{3} × B= 7

or, \frac{G}{2}  +  \frac{B}{3} = 7    ...2

or, Put the value of B from  eq 1

or,  \frac{G}{2}  +  \frac{18 - G}{3} = 7

Or,  \frac{G}{2}  -  \frac{G}{3}  + 6 = 7

or,  \frac{3G - 2G}{6}  = 7 - 6

Or,  \frac{G}{6}   = 1

∴ G = 1 × 6 = 6

Hence The number of Girls players in the Team of 18 players is 6 . Answer

Softa [21]

Kenyan = k

$3.50 per pound

Sri Lankan = s

$5.60 per pound

6lbs of blend

$28.35

s+k = 6

3.50k + 5.60s = 28.35

where:

k = lbs of kenyan

s = lbs of Sri Lankan

Solve the system

s+k = 6

3.50k + 5.60s = 28.35

solve the first equation for s:

s = 6-k

Replace in the second equation:

3.50k + 5.60 (6-k) = 28.35

3.50k + 5.60(6)+ 5.60(-k) = 28.35

3.50k + 33.6 - 5.60k = 28.35

3.50k - 5.60k = 28.35-33.6

-2.1k= -5.25

k= -5.25/-2.1

k= 2.5 lbs

Replace k on any equation and solve for s

s+k= 6

s+ 2.5 = 6

s= 6-2.5

s= 3.5 lbs
