Why do the pvc plastic wells used in this weeks elisa need to be sticky on the inner walls and how may your results change if a

different non-adherent plastic was used instead?

Answer:

The stickiness in the inner walls allows them to be easily coated with the desired antigens, this translates in the use of a smaller amount of antigen. If the walls weren't sticky there's a possibility the antigen won't stick to them and therefore the result of the ELISA can be a false negative.

I hope you find this information useful and interesting! Good luck!

PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

a) A = 3 cm,  b)  T = 0.4 s,   f = 2.5 Hz,

2) A standing wave the displacement of the wave is canceled and only one oscillation remains

Explanation:

a) in an oscillatory movement the amplitude is the highest value of the signal in this case

          A = 3 cm

b) the period of oscillation is the time it takes for the wave to repeat itself in this case

          T = 0.4 s

the period is the inverse of the frequency

         f = 1 /T

         f = 1 /, 0.4

         f = 2.5 Hz

2) a traveling wave is a wave for which as time increases the displacement increases, in the case of a transverse wave the oscillation is perpendicular to the displacement and in the case of a longitudinal wave the oscillation is in the same direction of the displacement.

A standing wave occurs when a traveling wave bounces off some object and there are two waves, one that travels in one direction and the other that travels in the opposite direction. In this case, the displacement of the wave is canceled and only one oscillation remains.

A 18.5-cm-diameter loop of wire is initially oriented perpendicular to a 1.9-T magnetic field. The loop is rotated so that its p
Alchen [17]

Answer:

0.3405V

Explanation:

#Given a magnetic field of 1.9T, diameter= 18.5cm(r=9.25cm or 0.0925m), we find the magnetic flux of the loop as:

\phi=B.(\pi r^2)cos 0\textdegree\\=1.9\pi\times 0.0925^2 \times cos 0\textdegree\\=5.107\times10^-^2 \ Tm^2

we can now calculate the induced emf, \frac{\phi}{\bigtriangleup t}:

\frac{\phi}{\bigtriangleup t}=\frac{5.107\times 10^-^2}{0.15}\\=3.405\times 10^-^1V

Hence, the induced emf of the loop is 0.3405V

An atomic nucleus is composed of A) protons. B) protons and neutrons. C) protons and electrons. D) protons, neutrons, and electr
In-s [12.5K]

Answer:

B) protons and neutrons.

Explanation:

The protons and neutrons are located in the nucleus of the atom and represent most of the 'mass' of the atom, that's their count that determine the 'mass' of an atom (like 12 for Carbon).

The electrons rotate around the nucleus and have a negligible mass.
