Missing information

Consider a superconducting MRI magnet for which the magnet field decreases from 8.0 T to nearly 0 in 20 s

Answer:

0.152 mV

Explanation:

Change in magnetic field, dB=8-0=8 T

Time interval, dt=20 s

Diameter of ring= 2.2cm hence radius is 1.1 cm equivalent to 0.011

\epsilon=nA\frac {dB}{dt} where n is the number of terms and for this question n=1 and A is area which is given by \pi r^{2} hence

\epsilon=n\pi r^{2} \frac {dB}{dt} and substituting the values

\epsilon=1\pi 0.011^{2}\times \frac {8}{20}=1.52\times 10^{-4} V=0.152 mV

Therefore, induced emf is 0.152 mV

The escape velocity is defined to be the minimum speed with which an object of mass m must move to escape from the gravitational
s344n2d4d5 [400]

Answer:

v = √2G M_{earth} / R

Explanation:

For this problem we use energy conservation, the energy initiated is potential and kinetic and the final energy is only potential (infinite r)

        Eo = K + U = ½ m1 v² - G m1 m2 / r1

        Ef = - G m1 m2 / r2

When the body is at a distance R> Re, for the furthest point (r2) let's call it Rinf

       Eo = Ef

       ½ m1v² - G m1 M_{earth} / R = - G m1 M_{earth} / R

      v² = 2G M_{earth} (1 / R - 1 / Rinf)

If we do Rinf = infinity     1 / Rinf = 0

       v = √2G M_{earth} / R

      Ef = = - G m1 m2 / R

The mechanical energy is conserved

      Em = -G m1  M_{earth} / R

      Em = - G m1  M_{earth} / R

     R = int        ⇒  Em = 0

What is induced current
Brrunno [24]

Answer:

A current can be induced in a conducting loop if it is exposed to a changing magnetic field. ... In other words, if the applied magnetic field is increasing, the current in the wire will flow in such a way that the magnetic field that it generates around the wire will decrease the applied magnetic field.
