There are no nothings following.

"Sphere" is quite an accurate description of the Earth's shape.

"Oblate spheroid" is even more accurate.

They're not the exact same thing.  But if you saw the Earth right next to an oblate spheroid the same size, you couldn't tell it from a perfect sphere.

What must a mechanical wave travel through
konstantin123 [22]
A mechanical wave always consists of wiggles in some kind of material stuff. The material stuff may be air, water, rock, wood, steel ... almost anything, as long as it's some material. In general, whatever the waves are moving through is called the "medium". If there isn't any, like the vacuum in space, then mechanical waves can't travel there. For example, sound can't travel in space ... not even an inch.

If the mass of an object is 44 kilograms and its velocity is 10 meters per second east, how much Kinetic Energy does it have?
Sauron [17]
The kinetic energy of a point body is defined as the product of (1/2) * (m) * (V ^ 2). Therefore, to find the kinetic energy of a body of mass m = 44Kg and velocity V = 10m / s the operation must be done (1/2) * (44) * (10 ^ 2) which results in 2,200 Joules.
