Average rate of change is slope.  The equation for slope is m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1).  (x2, y2) will be (5, 1) and (x1, y1) will be (-1, 7).  Plug in and solve:

(7-1)/(5--1)

6/6

1

Shinya went to the salon. The cost if her haircut was $16.00. He tipped the barber 15%. What was the total cost
Fantom [35]
Total cost=costofhaircut+tip
tip=costofhaircut times percent tip
percent tip=15%

percent means parts out of 100
15%=15/100=0.15

cost of haircut=16
tip=16 times 0.15=2.4

total cost=16+2.4=18.4

total cost=$18.40

Find parametric equations for the line through point P(-1,-1,-1) and Q(-5,7,3) A. x = t + 4; y = t - 8; z = -1t - 4
Elan Coil [88]

Answer:

B) x = -4t - 1; y = 8t - 1; z = 4t - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Explanation:-</em></u>

Given points are   P(-1,-1,-1) and Q(-5,7,3)

Let (x₁ , y₁ , z₁) =  P(-1,-1,-1)

Let (x₂ , y₂ , z₂) =   Q(-5,7,3)

Parametric equation of the line passing through the points  (x₁ , y₁ , z₁) and      (x₂ , y₂ , z₂)

\frac{x-x_{1} }{x_{2}-x_{1} } = \frac{y-y_{1} }{y_{2}-y_{1} } = \frac{z-z_{1} }{z_{2}-z_{1} } = t

\frac{x-(-1)}{-5-(-1)} = \frac{y -(-1)}{7-(-1)} = \frac{z-(-1)}{3-(-1)} = t

\frac{x-(-1)}{-4} = \frac{y -(-1)}{8} = \frac{z-(-1)}{4} = t

Equating  each term

             \frac{x+1}{-4} = t

     ⇒  x + 1 = - 4 t

    ⇒   x = - 4 t -1

          \frac{y +1}{8} = t

         y + 1 = 8 t

     ⇒  y  = 8 t - 1

        \frac{Z+1}{4} =1

  ⇒  z +1 = 4t

   ⇒ z = 4t -1

<u><em>Final answer</em></u><em>:</em>-

parametric equations for the line through point P(-1,-1,-1) and Q(-5,7,3)

are

x = -4t - 1; y = 8t - 1; z = 4t - 1

Which values from the set {0, 12, 2.5, 4} make the inequality 8g &lt; 4 true?
jok3333 [9.3K]

Answer:

a. 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Which values from the set {0, 12, 2.5, 4} make the inequality 8g < 4 true?

Our inequality:

8g < 4

Substitute each values from the set {0, 12, 2.5, 4} for g, to find which value makes the inequality true.

For 0:

8g < 4

8(0) < 4

0 < 4

This statemen is true, because 0 is less than 4

For 12:

8g < 4

8(12) < 4

96 < 4

This statemen is false, because 96 is NOT less than 4

For 2.5:

8g < 4

8(2.5) < 4

20 < 4

This statemen is false, because 20 is NOT less than 4

For 4:

8g < 4

8(4) < 4

32 < 4

This statemen is false, because 32 is NOT less than 4

Hope this helps!
