The gauge pressure in the tires of your car is 210 kPa (30.5 psi) when the temperature is 25°C (77 °F). Several days later it is

much colder. Use the ideal gas equation of state to estimate the gauge pressure in your tires, when the temperature is 0°C. Give your answer both in kilopascals (kPa) and pounds per square inch (psi). (Gauge pressure is the difference between absolute pressure and atmospheric pressure, which is ap- proximately 101.3 kPa.)

Under the assumption that the tires do not change in volume, apply Gay-Lussac's law:

P/T = const.

P = pressure, T = temperature, the quotient of P/T must stay constant.

Initial P and T values:

P = 210kPa + 101.325kPa

P = 311.325kPa (add 101.325 to change gauge pressure to absolute pressure)

T = 25°C = 298.15K

Final P and T values:

P = ?, T = 0°C = 273.15K

Set the initial and final P/T values equal to each other and solve for the final P:

311.325/298.15 = P/273.15

P = 285.220kPa

Subtract 101.325kPa to find the final gauge pressure:

285.220kPa - 101.325kPa = 183.895271kPa

The final gauge pressure is 184kPa or 26.7psi.

In 5 meters, a person running at 0.8 m/s accelerates at 1.6 m/s2. How fast 16 points
frutty [35]

They were going at a velocity 4.07m/s

<u>Explanation:</u>

Distance s =5 m

initial velocity u= 0.8 m/s

Acceleration a =1.6m/s2

We have to calculate the velocity with which they were going afterwards i.e final velocity.

Use the equation of motion

v^2=u^2+2as\\=0.8^2+2\times 1.6\times 5\\=16.64\\v=4.07 m/s

They were going with a velocity 4.07 m/s afterwards.

Use a common denominator to find-2/3 + -4/5
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

-22/15

Explanation:

the least common denominator is  15 so first you multiply -2/3 by 5 in both the numerator and denominator making it -10/15

Then you do the same to -4/5 except you multiply the numerator and denominator by 3 giving you -12/15

If you add -10/15+ -12/15 you get -22/15

According to the directions on a can of frozen orange juice concentrate, 1 can of concentrate is to be mixed with 3 cans of wate
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

25

Explanation:

Given:

1 can of concentrate requires 3 cans of water

Now,

Total ounces in 200 6-ounce cans = 1200 ounces

also,

for 1 can of concentrate requires 3 cans of water

thus,

for 12 ounces can water can required = 3 × 12 ounces = 36 ounces of cans

Thus,

total ounce of juice per can = 12 + 36 = 48 ounces per can

therefore,

the number of 12-ounce cans required  are = \frac{\textup{Ttoal ounces}}{\textup{Ounces per can}}

or

= \frac{\textup{1200}}{\textup{48}}

or

the number of 12-ounce cans required  are = 25
