When magma reaches the top, it cools from the crust, it sinks back down to the core. Just like the water, the magma usually goes in a circular motion going up and down. Convection current is what moves plate tectonics/the crust.

a convection current moves in a looped pattern.... much like welding... easier do disperse large amounts of heat in a circular pattern rather than a straight line.

hope this helps!

Which of the following contributes to the phases of the Moon as seen from Earth?
balandron [24]

Answer: Varying amounts of the Moon's lit surface being visible from Earth.

Explanation:

Phases of the moon can be defined as the different shapes of the moon visible from the Earth. This happens because sun lits up the face of moon and due to different position of moon in the orbit around earth, varying portion of the lit surface of the moon is visible from Earth. Refer to the diagram below:

A rocket with a mass of 62,000 kg (including fuel) is burning fuel at the rate of 150 kg/s and the speed of the exhaust gases is
mezya [45]

Answer:

h≅ 58 m

Explanation:

GIVEN:

mass of rocket M= 62,000 kg

fuel consumption rate =  150 kg/s

velocity of exhaust gases v= 6000 m/s

Now thrust = rate of fuel consumption×velocity of exhaust gases

=6000 × 150 = 900000 N

now to need calculate time t = amount of fuel consumed÷ rate

= 744/150= 4.96 sec

applying newton's law

M×a= thrust - Mg

62000 a=900000- 62000×9.8

acceleration a= 4.71 m/s^2

its height after 744 kg of its total fuel load has been consumed

h= \frac{1}{2}at^2

h= \frac{1}{2}4.71\times4.96^2

h= 58.012 m

h≅ 58 m

The horizontal bar rises at a constant rate of three hundred mm/s causing peg P to ride in the quarter circular slot. When coord
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

Horizontal bar rises with 300 mm/s

Let us take the horizontal component of P be

P_x=rcos\theta

P_y=rsin\theta

where \thetais angle made by horizontal bar with x axis

Velocity at y=150 mm

150=300sin\theta

thus \theta =30^{\circ}

position ofP_x=rcos\theta =300\cdot cos30=300\times \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}

P_x=259.80 mm

P=259.80\hat{i}+150\hat{j}

Velocity at this instant

u_x=-rsin\theta =300\times sin30=-150 mm/s

u_y=rcos\theta =300\times cos30=259.80 mm/s

Suppose you walk 11 m in a direction exactly 24° south of west then you walk 21 m in a direction exactly 39° west of north. 1) H
DENIUS [597]

Answer:

(1) 42.94 m

(2) 16.02^\circ

Explanation:

Let us first draw a figure, for the given question as below:

In the figure, we assume that the person starts walking from point A to travel 11 m exactly 24^\circ south of west to point B and from there, it walks 21 m exactly 39^\circ west of north to reach point C.

Let us first write the two displacements in the vector form:

\vec{AB} = (-11\cos 24^\circ\ \hat{i}-11\sin 24^\circ\ \hat{j})\ m =(-10.05\ \hat{i}-4.47\ \hat{j})\ m\\\vec{BC} = (-21\sin 39^\circ\ \hat{i}+21\cos 39^\circ\ \hat{j})\ m =(-31.22\ \hat{i}+16.32\ \hat{j})\ m

Now, the vector sum of both these vectors will give us displacement vector from point A to point C.

\vec{AC}=\vec{AB}+\vec{BC}\\\Rightarrow \vec{AC}=(-10.05\ \hat{i}-4.47\ \hat{j})\ m+(-31.22\ \hat{i}+16.32\ \hat{j})\ m\\\Rightarrow \vec{AC}=(-41.25\ \hat{i}+11.85\ \hat{j})\ m

Part (1):

the magnitude of the shortest displacement from the starting point A to point the final position C is given by:

AC=\sqrt{(-41.25)^2+(11.85)^2}\ m= 42.94\ m

Part (2):

As the vector AC is coordinates lie in the third quadrant of the cartesian vector plane whose angle with the west will be positive in the north direction.

The angle of the shortest line connecting the starting point and the final position measured north of west is given by:

\theta = \tan^{-1}(\dfrac{11.85}{41.27})\\\Rightarrow \theta = 16.02^\circ
