Answer: protons

Explanation:

Protons are positively charged elementary particles of hydrogen atom nuclei, and have a much greater weight than that of electrons.

In this sense, proton therapy consists in pointing to a tumor with an invisible and highly controlled beam that works with precision as if it were drawn with the tip of a pencil.

It should be noted that, firstly protons are accelerated inside a cyclotron at a speed that is equal to approximately half the speed of light (allowing them to have high energy) allowing the damage to tumors up to a depth of approximately 30 cm.

After the protons are accelerated in the cyclotron, they are directed with a strong magnetic field to a very narrow beam and transferred with a high degree of precision through the malignant tumor. This high amount of energy released in a controlled manner in the tumor tissue, results in ionization and damage to the DNA of the malignant cells that are attacked, causing them to stop dividing rapidly (the cause of cancer) or even causing the cells to die, immediately

This is a highly effective treatment that has no side effects in damage to healthy tissue surrounding the tumor, unlike X-ray therapies.

fgiga [73]

Answer:

The answer is "c,d,e, and g".

Explanation:

The correct choices can be defined as follows:

  • Higher-frequency microwaves aren't used in any of these systems.
  • Infrared waves aren't seen in each of these technologies.
  • Its shortest wavelength of all of the technologies listed is the above radiation generated by certain wireless networks.
  • These devices all produce waves of wavelengths ranging from 0.10 to 10.0 cm.

4. A disobedient student dropped his Physics textbook (mass 0.1kg) from the window (15m above the ground). How fast was it going
vaieri [72.5K]

Answer:

v= 17.15 m/s

Explanation:

mass of the book=0.1 Kg

height above ground, h= 15 m

Using conservation of energy

Potential energy is converted into kinetic energy

mgh = \frac{1}{2}mv^2

v=\sqrt{2gh}

v=\sqrt{2\times 9.8\times 15}

v=\sqrt{294}

v= 17.15 m/s

Hence, the book will hit the ground at the speed of 17.15 m/s.
