Answer: protons

Explanation:

Protons are positively charged elementary particles of hydrogen atom nuclei, and have a much greater weight than that of electrons.

In this sense, proton therapy consists in pointing to a tumor with an invisible and highly controlled beam that works with precision as if it were drawn with the tip of a pencil.

It should be noted that, firstly protons are accelerated inside a cyclotron at a speed that is equal to approximately half the speed of light (allowing them to have high energy) allowing the damage to tumors up to a depth of approximately 30 cm.

After the protons are accelerated in the cyclotron, they are directed with a strong magnetic field to a very narrow beam and transferred with a high degree of precision through the malignant tumor. This high amount of energy released in a controlled manner in the tumor tissue, results in ionization and damage to the DNA of the malignant cells that are attacked, causing them to stop dividing rapidly (the cause of cancer) or even causing the cells to die, immediately

This is a highly effective treatment that has no side effects in damage to healthy tissue surrounding the tumor, unlike X-ray therapies.

Photoelectrons with a maximum speed of 7.00 · 105 m/s are ejected from a surface in the presence of light with a frequency of 8.

This is just testing your ability to recall that kinetic energy is given by:

<span>k.e. = ½mv² </span>

<span>where m is the mass and v is the velocity of the particle. </span>

<span>The frequency of the light is redundant information. </span>

<span>Here, you are given m = 9.1 * 10^-31 kg and v = 7.00 * 10^5 m/s. </span>
<span>Just plug in the values: </span>

<span>k.e. = ½ * 9.1 * 10^-31 * (7.00 * 10^5)² </span>
<span>k.e. = 2.23 * 10^-19 J
so it will be d:2.2*10^-19 J</span>

MariettaO [177]

Answer:

F = 6666.7 N

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass of a chip, m = 0.1 mg

Initial speed, u = 0

Final speed,v=4\times 10^{3}\ m/s

Time of collision,t=6\times 10^{-8}\ s

We know that,

Force, F = ma

Put all the values,

F=\dfrac{m(v-u)}{t}\\\\F=\dfrac{0.1\times 10^{-6}\times (4\times 10^3-0)}{6\times 10^{-8}}\\\\F=6666.7\ N

So, the required force is 6666.7 N.

A centripetal force causes circular motion because it accelerates an object
MAVERICK [17]

The answer is option A.

Centripetal force is always directed towards the centre and does not change the speed of the body,but there is a change in the direction.
