A white dwarf star has a density of about 1.0 x 10^9 kg/m3. If the earth were to suddenly become as dense as a white dwarf star,
GalinKa [24]

Answer:

R = 98304.75 m = 98.3 km

Explanation:

The density of an object is given as the ratio between the mass of that object and the volume occupied by that object.

Density = Mass/Volume

Now, it is given that the density of Earth has become:

Density = 1 x 10⁹ kg/m³

Mass = Mass of Earth (Constant) = 5.97 x 10²⁴ kg

Volume = 4/3πR³ (Volume of Sphere)

R = Radius of Earth = ?

Therefore,

1 x 10⁹ kg/m³ = (5.97 x 10²⁴ kg)/[4/3πR³]

4/3πR³ = (5.97 x 10²⁴ kg)/(1 x 10⁹ kg/m³)

R³ = (3/4)(5.97 x 10¹⁵ m³)/π

R = ∛[0.95 x 10¹⁵ m³]

<u>R = 98304.75 m = 98.3 km</u>

A 5kg block is pulled across a table by a horizontal force of 40 N with a frictional force of 8 N opposing the motion. Draw a fo
Taya2010 [7]

Answer:

Net force on the block is 32 N.

Acceleration of the object is 6.4 m/s².

Explanation:

Let the acceleration of the object be a m/s².

Given:

Mass of the block is, m=5\ kg

Force of pull is, F=40\ N

Frictional force on the block is, f=8\ N

The free body diagram of the object is shown below.

From the figure, the net force in the forward direction is given as:

F_{net}=F-f=40-8=32\ N

Now, from Newton's second law of motion, net force is equal to the product of mass and acceleration. So,

F_{net}=ma\\32=5a\\a=\frac{32}{5}=6.4\ m/s^2

Therefore, the acceleration of the object in the forward direction is 6.4 m/s².

How do you find velocity when given 3 numbers
forsale [732]
In general, that's not possible, unless the three numbers relate to
very specific quantities.

For example, if the three numbers are the object's height, temperature,
and cost, then they are of no help at finding the object's velocity.
