In an experiment involving an enzyme, the effect of raising pH from 2 to 11 will be the denaturation of the enzyme and consequently stopping the reaction.

Enzymes work at a certain pH, called optimum pH, increasing the pH of an enzyme above the optimum pH affects the structure of an enzyme through denaturation and thus affecting its activity. When this happens the enzyme looses the ability to catalyze the reaction and therefore, the reaction will stop.
