Answer:

The initial velocity of the golf is 15.7 m/s.

The direction of the golf is 57°.

Explanation:

The following data were obtained from the question:

Time of flight (T) = 2.7 secs

Range (R) = 23 m

Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 9.8 m/s²

Initial velocity (u) =.?

Direction (θ) =.?

T = 2U Sine θ /g

2.7 = 2 × U × Sine θ /9.8

Cross multiply

2.7 × 9.8 = 2 × U × Sine θ

26.46 = 2 × U × Sine θ

Divide both side by 2 × Sine θ

U = 26.46 /2 Sine θ

U = 13.23 / Sine θ ... (1)

R = U² Sine 2θ /g

23 = U² Sine 2θ / 9.8

U = 13.23 / Sine θ

23 = (13.23/ Sine θ)² Sine 2θ / 9.8

23 = (175.0329 / Sine² θ) × Sine 2θ / 9.8

23 = 17.8605/Sine² θ × Sine 2θ

Recall:

Sine 2θ = 2SineθCosθ

23 = 17.8605/ Sine² θ × 2SineθCosθ

23 = 17.8605/ Sine θ × 2Cosθ

23 = 35.721 Cos θ /Sine θ

Cross multiply

23 × Sine θ = 35.721 Cos θ

Divide both side by 23

Sine θ = 35.721 Cos θ /23

Sine θ = 1.5531 × Cos θ

Divide both side by Cos θ

Sine θ /Cos θ = 1.5531

Recall:

Sine θ /Cos θ = Tan θ

Sine θ /Cos θ = 1.5531

Tan θ = 1.5531

Take the inverse of Tan

θ = Tan¯¹ (1.5531)

θ = 57°

Therefore, the direction of the golf is 57°

Thus, the initial velocity can be obtained as follow:

U = 13.23 / Sine θ

θ = 57°

U = 13.23 / Sine 57

U = 13.23/0.8387

U = 15.7 m/s

Therefore, the initial velocity of the golf is 15.7 m/s

In a 5000 m race, the athletes run 12 1/2 laps; each lap is 400 m.Kara runs the race at a constant pace and finishes in 17.9 min
Ksju [112]

Answer:

No. of laps of Hannah are 7 (approx).

Solution:

According to the question:

The total distance to be covered, D = 5000 m

The distance for each lap, x = 400 m

Time taken by Kara, t_{K} = 17.9 min = 17.9\times 60 = 1074 s

Time taken by Hannah, t_{H} = 15.3 min = 15.3\times 60 = 918 s

Now, the speed of Kara and Hannah can be calculated respectively as:

v_{K} = \frac{D}{t_{K}} = \frac{5000}{1074} = 4.65 m/s

v_{H} = \frac{D}{t_{H}} = \frac{5000}{918} = 5.45 m/s

Time taken in each lap is given by:

(v_{H} - v_{K})t = x

(5.45 - 4.65)\times t = 400

t = \frac{400}{0.8}

t = 500 s

So, Distance covered by Hannah in 't' sec is given by:

d_{H} = v_{H}\times t

d_{H} = 5.45\times 500 = 2725 m

No. of laps taken by Hannah when she passes Kara:

n_{H} = \frac{d_{H}}{x}

n_{H} = \frac{2725}{400} = 6.8 ≈ 7 laps

Can a molecule have bond dipoles but not have a molecular dipole?
MissTica

Answer: Yes

Explanation: A molecule has a bond dipole but not have a molecular dipole.

Dipole moment:  dipole moment is the product of the distribution of the charge of the molecules and the distance between of the molecules.

Example:

lets take an example of  CO_{2} molecule in which two electro negative oxygen atoms are attached with Carbon atom. Oxygen being electro negative will attract the shared pair electrons towards itself and  partial negative charge will create on oxygen atom and partial positive charge on carbon atom C.

due to formation of partial positive and partial negative charges dipole moment is created between oxygen and Carbon bond on both the sides in opposite direction.

Since, the dipole moment acting in opposite direction the net dipole moment in the molecule is zero.

Hence, Yes, a molecule has bond dipoles but not have a molecular dipole.

wolverine [178]

Answer:

F = q v B sin Θ       describes force on the electron

F = m v^2 / R          describes force required to keep electron in circular path

q v B sin Θ = m v^2 / R

R = m v / (q B sin Θ)

R = 9.1E-31 * 1E7 / (.1 * 1.6E-19 * .423)

R = 9.1 / 6.77 * E-3 = .00134 m = .134 cm
