The options is as follows:

a. When lithium is placed in water, the temperature of the container increases.

b. The combustion of kerosene releases heat.

c. When barium hydroxide is mixed with ammonium chloride, ice crystals form on the outside of the container.

d. The reaction of trinitrotoluene with oxygen releases heat and light.

Answer:

c. When barium hydroxide is mixed with ammonium chloride, ice crystals form on the outside of the container.

Explanation:

An endothermic reaction is a chemical reaction whereby heat or energy is absorb from the environment. The heat absorb from the environment is used to provide the activation energy needed for the reaction to be carried out. This energy can be absorbed in the form of heat, light and electricity.

In endothermic reaction their is an overall decrease in the temperature as heat is usually absorb from the surrounding . Usually, after the reaction the components feel cold. Examples of endothermic reaction is dissolving salt in water. Other example of endothermic process are cooking an egg and evaporating liquid water.

Note not all endothermic process are chemical reaction because chemical reaction usually involve breaking or formation of chemical bond. Example of endothermic process that are not chemical reaction is sweating.

All the other process, their is a release of heat to the surrounding except When barium hydroxide is mixed with ammonium chloride, ice crystals form on the outside of the container.

The tendency to combust is a chemical property.
O True
O False
erastova [34]

Answer:

The correct option is;

True

Explanation:

Combustion is a chemical reaction between components of a combustion reaction which are;

1) A fuel

2) An oxidizing agent

The oxidizing agent or oxidant in a combustion reaction consist mainly of oxygen.

A combustion reaction is an oxidation and reduction (redox) heat evolving (exothermic) reaction that takes place at high temperatures and produces smoke which consists of gaseous mixture of chemicals and sometimes very small solid particles

An exothermic reaction can be classed either as rapid, spontaneous, or explosive

A spontaneous exothermic reaction is one that begins on its own in atmospheric conditions and room temperature as the heat required to begin the reaction is produced by the initial oxidation of the reacting fuel

Example of a substance that undergoes spontaneous oxidation reaction is white phosphorus.

What would happen to the oxygen atoms in ozone if the ozone layer were completely destroyed by ultraviolet radiation?
ale4655 [162]

When the oxygen atoms in ozone layer were destroyed by ultraviolet radiations the individual oxygen atoms will make bond with each other and form paired oxygen molecules again to form ozone.

What is the ozone layer?

Ozone layer has a high concentration of ozone (O3) in comparison to the rest of the atmosphere, although it is still low in comparison to other gases in the stratosphere.

The ozone layer contains less than ten parts per million of ozone, whereas the normal ozone concentration in the Earth's atmosphere is around 0.3 parts per million. The ozone layer is mostly found in the lower stratosphere.

Why is it difficult to determine earth's inner structure
Lesechka [4]
It is hard because we can't get past the crust, Our machines will burn up at the mantle and so will we. The layers go: crust, mantle, outer core, inner core.

Each iron atom has a mass of about 9 x 1023 grams. Even a small grain of iron has an incredible number of atoms in. it--about 1
AveGali [126]

Answer:

A) The number of atoms in a grain of iron is most similar to the number of meters between Earth and Vega.

The options attached to the question are missing, but out of the numbers presented in the options, 10¹⁷ is closest to 10¹⁸.

B) The mass of a grain of iron is approximately (9 × 10⁻⁵) g

Explanation:

The options attached to the question are missing, after searching online, the image of the question was obtained, but it won't be attached to this solution in order not to violate the community guidelines and lead to deletion of answer.

But, out of the numbers presented in the options, 10¹⁷ is closest to 10¹⁸, hence, the number of atoms in a grain of iron is most similar to the number of meters between Earth and Vega.

The second part of the question asks for the approximate mass of a grain of iron.

1 atom of iron has a mass of (9 × 10⁻²³) g

1 grain of iron has about (1 × 10¹⁸) atoms of iron.

So, the mass of a grain of iron = (9 × 10⁻²³) × (1 × 10¹⁸) = (9 × 10⁻⁵) g

Hope this Helps!!!
