Polar. from inter net
“
No , it is not necessary that if the E.N difference is greater than 1.7 then the bond should be ionic. For ionic and covalent bonds we see that the bond is between what kind of atoms, they are either metals or non-metals.If the bond is between metal and non-metal then it should be ionic like in NaCl.Na is metal while Cl is non-metal.Na has greater atomic radius can lose electron easily and having low ionization energy while Cl has smaller atomic radius can gain electron easily and having high ionization energy . Therefore they form ionic bond.On the other hand non-metals havimg small atomic radii having high values of I.E therefore non of them can lose electrons due to high ionization energy values.Instead of losing and gaining of electrons they share their valance electrons in order to get stability.Since in HF both H and F are non-metals therefore they form covalent bond. From the above discussion we conclude that whether a chemical bond is between metal and non-metal then it will be ionic and if there is a chemical bond between non-metals it will be covalent.”

Water can keep engines operating at low temperatures. Which property of water most likely gives it this ability?
AVprozaik [17]

Answer:

B: it has a high heat capacity

Explanation:

When any material has a high specific heat capacity/ heat capacity, it doesn't heat or cool very fast. So water can absorb more heat from the engine and can keep the engine cool or at low temperature for a longer period of time.

Luca wants to identify and quantity the chemicals causing air pollution in a city, but he is using a manual air sampler to colle
xenn [34]

Answer

Manual samplers are prone to effects of temperature, speed of wind and air concentrations.

Explanation

Manual samplers face several challenges that can act as drawbacks to obtaining accurate results. They are subjected to effects of sampling duration where long sampling times are needed to obtain adequate mass for detection. Manual samplers face challenges when measuring non-volatile species because particles are observed into the adsorption medium at a slower rate of diffusion.

The percent yield of this reaction is consistently 92.0%. CH4(g) + 4 S(g) → CS2(g) + 2 H2S(g) How many grams of sulfur would be
dybincka [34]

Answer:

132.17 g

Explanation:

The reaction given , in the question is -

    CH₄ (g ) + 4 S ( g ) ---> CS₂ ( g ) + 2H₂S  ( g )

From the reaction , 4 mole of S is required for the production of 1 mole of  CS₂ .

since ,

Moles of  CS₂  = given mass of CS₂ / Molecular weight  of  CS₂

Since ,

the Molecular weight of  CS₂ = 76

Given ,  mass of CS₂ =  72.57 g

Moles of  CS₂ = 72.57  / 76 = 0.95 mol

Since ,

The yield is 92.0 % .

Moles of S required = 4 * 0.95 mol / 0.92 = 4.13 moles

Mass of S required = 4.13 * 32 = 132.17 g .

Devices that allow you to do work in an easier way.
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

The most notable of these are known as the "six simple machines": the wheel and axle, the lever, the inclined plane, the pulley, the screw, and the wedge, although the latter three are actually just extensions or combinations of the first three.
