Kinetic energy=Ek
Ek=(1/2)mv²
Ek=480 J
v=8 m/s
mass=?

Ek=(1/2)mv²
480 J=(1/2)m(8 m/s)²
480 J=(32 m²/s²) m
m=(480 J)/(32 m²/s²)=15 kg

answer: the mass of the object is 15 kilograms.

For a chemical reaction to be spontaneous at all temperatures, which of the following conditions must be met? a. ΔS° > 0, ΔH°
ladessa [460]

Answer:

b. ΔS° > 0, ΔH° < 0

Explanation:

According the equation of Gibb's free energy -

∆°G = ∆°H -T∆°S

∆°G = is the change in gibb's free energy

∆°H = is the change in enthalpy

T = temperature

∆°S = is the change in entropy .

And , the sign of the  Δ°G , determines whether the reaction is Spontaneous or non - Spontaneous or at equilibrium ,

i.e. ,

if

  • Δ°G < 0 , the reaction is Spontaneous
  • Δ°G > 0 , the reaction is non - Spontaneous
  • Δ°G = 0 , the reaction is at equilibrium

The reaction has the value for ∆°H < 0 i.e. negative, and ∆°S > 0 i.e. , positive

Now ,

∆°G = ∆°H -T∆°S

= ( - ∆°H ) - T( + ∆°S )

= ( - ∆°H ) - T( ∆°S )

∆°G = negative

Hence ,

Δ°G < 0 , the reaction is Spontaneous  .

The [H3O+] of a solution with pH = 2.0 is.
Licemer1 [7]

Answer:

[H_{3}O^{+} ] = 10^{-2} mol/ L

Explanation:

Measure of  [H₃O⁺] , i.e hydrogen ion concentration, indicates the acidity of the solution. The greater the concentration, the greater is the acidity.  [H₃O⁺], this quantity can range from 10⁻¹ to 10⁻¹⁴ at ambient temperature(298K). This range is always temperature dependent.

Measure of acidity of a solution is expressed more conveniently using the notation of pH.

pH = - log_{10}[H_{3}O^{+} ]

Using the above formula

[H_{3}O^{+} ] = 10^{-(pH)}

[H_{3}O^{+} ] = 10^{-2} mol/ L
