5 g of gold and 25 g of silver are mixed to form a single-phase ideal solid solution. (a) how many moles of solution are there?
worty [1.4K]

Mole fraction for silver= 0.2317643/0.3079193

                                     = 0.7526787

Mole fraction for gold=0.076155/0.3079193

                                    =0.2473212

What is Molar Fraction?

The mole fraction is the product of the number of molecules of a specific component in a mixture and its total molecular weight. It serves as a means of indicating how concentrated a solution is.

It is a unit of concentration, defined as the product of the moles of a component and the moles of the entire solution. When all the parts of a solution are summed up, their mole fraction equals 1.

molar mass of silver = 107.8682g/mol

Molar mass of gold= 196.96657g/mol

Therefore mole = mass/molar mass

For silver: 25g/107.8682g/mol = 0.2317643mol

For gold: 15g/196.96657g/mol= 0.076155mol

Total number of mole= 0.2317643+0.076155

                                    = 0.30791193mol

Mole fraction for silver= 0.2317643/0.3079193

                                      = 0.7526787

Mole fraction for gold=0.076155/0.3079193

                                     =0.2473212

Which isomer of 1-bromo-2-tert-butylcyclohexane reacts faster when refluxed with potassium tert-butoxide?Draw the structure of t
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

See explanation and image attached

Explanation:

The reaction of 1-bromo-2-tert-butylcyclohexane with  potassium tert-butoxide is an elimination reaction that occurs by E2 mechanism.

The E2 reaction proceeds faster when the hydrogens are in an antiperiplanar position at an angle of 180 degrees.

This is only attainable in the trans isomer of 1-bromo-2-tert-butylcyclohexane. Hence trans 1-bromo-2-tert-butylcyclohexane reacts faster with potassium tert-butoxide

Which term best describes this reaction? 2 carbons double bonded to each other, with CH 3 above the left C and H above the right
Ierofanga [76]

Answer:

addition polymerization

Explanation:

In addition polymerization, the monomers are simply joined to each other to form a polymer having the same empirical formula as the monomer but of higher relative molecular mass. The monomers in addition polymerization are usually simple unsaturated molecules such as alkenes.

We can deduce the reaction to be an addition polymerization because of the the attachment of n to both the unsaturated monomer and the saturated polymer without the loss of any small molecule. If it was a condensation polymerization, there would have been an accompanying loss of a small molecule such as water.

An igneous rock has a coarse texture and is dark in color. How else can this rock be accurately described?
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer:

C,D.

Explanation:

Extrusive, or volcanic, igneous rock is produced when magma exits and cools above (or very near) the Earth's surface. These are the rocks that form at erupting volcanoes and oozing fissures.
