The correct option is B.

A buffer refers to an aqueous solution which resist changes in pH when acids or bases are added to it. Also addition or removal of water from a buffer system does not change the pH of the system significantly. Buffers typically are made up of pairs of weak acid and their conjugate base or pairs of weak base and their conjugate acids. Maintaining the ideal pH is very important in living organisms, blood buffers help living organisms to maintain constant blood pH.

Which of the following is the number of moles of solute that is dissolved in 1 liter of solution?
Komok [63]
I believe the correct answer is option B. Molarity is the number of moles of solute that is dissolved in 1 liter of solution. It is another way of expressing concentration of a mixture especially for solutions. Percent by mass is grams solute per grams of solution. Percent by volume is liter solute per liter per solution.

Solid a is a very hard electrical insulator in solid as well as in molten state and melts at extremely high temperature. What ty
velikii [3]

This is covalent network type of solid.

For example, silicon dioxide (SiO₂) is covalent network solid with covalent bonding.

Covalent network solid is a chemical compound (or element) in which the atoms are bonded by covalent bonds in a continuous network extending throughout the material.

Silicon(IV) oxide has continuous three-dimensional network of SiO₂ units and diamond has sp3 hybridization.

This solids do not have free electrons so they are good insulators.

They have strong covalent bonds, so they melt at extremely high temperature.

Other examples are quartz, diamond, and silicon carbide.

A drop of water weighing 0.48 g is vaporized at 100 ?c and condenses on the surface of a 55-g block of aluminum that is initiall
irakobra [83]

Answer;

-49 °C

Explanation and solution;

  • Considering the fact that, the specific heat capacity of aluminum is 0.903 J/g x C, and the heat of vaporization of water at 25 C is 44.0 KJ/mol.

Moles water = 0.48 g / 18.02 g/mol

                      =0.0266  moles

Heat lost by water = 0.0266 mol x 44.0 kJ/mol

                                 =1.17 kJ => 1170 J

But heat lost =heat gained

Therefore; Heat gained by aluminium = 1170 J

        1170 = 55 x 0.903 ( T - 25) = 49.7 T - 1242

                   1170 + 1242 = 49.7 T

            T = 48.5 °C ( 49 °C at two significant figures)

Hence, final temperature = 49 °C
