Answer:

The distance from the pivot point that the small child will sit in order to maintain the balance is 1.8 m

Explanation:

Given;

mass of the bigger child, M = 30 kg

mass of the smaller child, m = 20 kg

distance between the two children, d = 3 m

This information can be represented diagrammatically;

                                    3m

         |<------------------------------------------------>|

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

         ↓             x            Δ            3-x           ↓

         20kg                                                 30kg

x is the distance from the pivot point that the small child will sit in order to maintain the balance

Take moment about the pivot;

Clockwise moment = anticlockwise moment

30(3-x) = 20x

90 -30x = 20x

90 = 20x + 30x

90 = 50x

x = 90 / 50

x = 1.8 m

Therefore, the distance from the pivot point that the small child will sit in order to maintain the balance is 1.8 m

Two coils, held in fixed positions, have a mutual inductance of M = 0.0034 H. The current in the first coil is I(t) = I0sin(ωt),
tiny-mole [99]

Answer:

ε₂ =2.63 V

Explanation:

given,

M = 0.0034 H

I (t) = I₀ sin (ωt)

I (t) = 5.4 sin (143 t)

\dfrac{d i(t)}{dt} = \dfrac{d}{dt}(5.4 sin (143 t))

\dfrac{d i(t)}{dt} =143 \times 5.4 cos (143 t)

magnitude of the induced emf in the second coil

ε₂ =M\dfrac{di}{dt}

ε₂ =0.0034\times 143 \times 5.4 cos (143 t)

for maximum emf

cos (143 t) = 1

ε₂ =0.0034\times 143 \times 5.4

ε₂ =2.63 V

When storm clouds produce lightning and thunder, energy changes to energy and energy.
balandron [24]
When storm clouds produce lightening and thunder, then, potential energy changes into kinectic energy.

The clouds become negatively charged,and the ground is positively charged during a storm. So there creates a potential difference between the charged clouds and the ground. And when this becomes huge so much that it over comes the electrical insulation cover of air, the electrons jump to the ground.i.e. the potential energy changes into kinetic energy.
