.2 (simplified from 0.20)

2/10 (simplified from 20/100)

Well, you know that 20% is out of 100.
So, take a fraction that is equivalent to 20% of 100. ( 2/10 works fine) or, 1/5
Then, take 20% and luckily, 20% is a benchmark so .2 (out of 10) works fine.

Which Graph Represents The solution set of this inequality?
Alex

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

1. In order to determine the inequality, you must first solve the solution set to determine what x is less than.

So you would do this:

1 + 2x < 9             Subtract 1

2x < 8                  Divide by 2

x < 4

2. Next, you need to understand the difference between an open circle and a closed circle shown on the solution sets.

An open circle is equal to the following inequalities:

<, >

A Closed circle represents inequalities in situations such as:

greater than or equal to, or less than or equal to

3. Because the inequality above represents only less than or greater than the inequality sets should have an open circle being used.

Since x is less than 4 it should be moving to the left of the line inequality set.

jake is getting a new phone! he buys the service is $50 per month. write the funtion that would represent on how much jake sends
I am Lyosha [343]
Since x=months,

50x=y

Where x is the number of months times the monthly charge. Y is just the output, or end value.

I hope this helps!

The chairs in the auditorium illustrates an arithmetic sequence

  • The recursive rule is:  an = an-1 + 8; a1 = 26
  • The explicit rule is:  an = 18 + 8n
  • There are 74 seats in the 7th row
  • 840 chairs can fit the auditorium

The recursive rule

From the question, we have the following sequence:

Seats: 18, 26, 34

Rewrite as:

26 = 18 + 8

34 = 26 + 8

The above means that:

The number of seats on a row is 8 added to the the number of seats on the previous row.

Hence, the recursive rule is:

an = an-1 + 8; a1 = 26

The explicit rule

In (a), we have:

a1 = 26 and d = 8

The explicit rule is calculated using:

an = a1 + (n -1) * d

This gives

an = 26 + (n - 1) * 8

Expand

an = 26 - 8 + 8n

Evaluate the difference

an = 18 + 8n

Hence, the explicit rule is:

an = 18 + 8n

The number of seats in the row 7

This means that n = 7.

So, we  have:

a7 = 18 + 8 * 7 = 74

Hence, there are 74 seats in the 7th row

The sigma notation

We have the maximum number of rows to be 12.

So, the sigma notation would be:

\sum\limits^{12}_{n=1} {18 + 8n}

The total number of seats is:

Sn = n/2(2a + (n -1) * d)

This gives

S12 = 12/2(2 * 26 + (12 -1) * 8)

S12 = 840

Hence, 840 chairs can fit the auditorium
