You plan to throw stones by using a sling that you whirl over your head. You will whirl the stone in a horizontal circle with a

radius of 1.50 m at a height of 2.50 m above the ground. If you want the stone to hit a target on the ground a distance of 15.9 m in front of you and 1.50 m to the side (note that this number is the same as the radius of the circle), what must be the magnitude of the centripetal acceleration of the stone just before you release it

Answer:

330.635 meter per second square

Explanation:

Given

Height ,h = 2.50 m

Radius, r = 1.50 m

Distance travelled,  d = 15.9 m

Since, the stone is released and it falls towards the sky, its initial velocity is zero

As per equation

h = ut + \frac{1}{2} gt^2\\, we will evaluate "t"

Substituting the given values in above equation, we get

2.5 = 0 *t + 0.5 * 9.81 * t^2\\t^2 = \frac{2.5}{0.5*9.81}\\ t = \sqrt{0.5096} \\t = 0.714

Velocity

= \frac{d}{t} \\= \frac{15.9}{0.714}\\= 22.27

centripetal acceleration

= \frac{v^2}{r} \\= \frac{22.27^2}{1.5}\\ = 330.635\\

A ball is thrown straight up with an initial speed of 36 m/s . Part A How much time does it take for the ball to reach the top o
nevsk [136]

Answer:3.67 s

Explanation:

Given

Ball is thrown with an initial velocity of u=36\ m/s

As the ball moves upward it experience a declaration due to gravity which will slow down the ball

using

v=u+at

where v=final velocity

u=initial velocity

a=acceleration

t=time

Here v=0

0=36-9.8\times t

t=\frac{36}{9.8}

t=3.67\ s

How do the gravitational and electrical forces between a proton and neutron compare
uysha [10]
Assume distance of seperarion is 1m

F.elec = kQq/r^2

charge of a proton: 1.6×10^-19 C
charge of a neutron: 0 C

F.elec = 0 N

F.grav = GMm/r^2

mass of a proton: 1.672621898×10^-27 kg
mass of a neutron: 1.674927471×10^-27 kg

F.grav = (6.67408×10^-11)×(1.674927471×10^-27)×(1.672621898×10^-27)÷(1^2)

F.grav = 1.8699588×10^-64 N

A ball is thrown into the air with an upward velocity of 32 feet per second. Its height, h, in feet after t
LekaFEV [45]
Differentiate the expression, to obtain expression for velocity. Set velocity to 0, this when max height is reached. Obtain the tmax from that expression.

<span>h(t) = –16t² + 32t + 6
</span><span>h'(t) = –32t² + 32
0 = </span>–32t² + 32
t max= 1

hmax = <span> –16(1)² + 32(1) + 6
hmax = 22

Therefore, first option is the correct answer.</span>
