The correct answer to the question is A): The truck and trailer will experience a net force of 40 newtons backward.

EXPLANATION:

As per the question, the force exerted by the truck F = 2750 N forward.

The force exerted by the trailer F' = 2790 N backward.

We are asked to calculate the net force experienced by the truck and trailer.

From above, we see that two forces are anti parallel i.e they are opposite to each other.

Hence, the angle between them \theta = 180^{0}.

Let the magnitude of the resultant force is R.

From parallelogram law of vector addition, the magnitude of the resultant is calculated as -

                                 R=\ \sqrt{F^2+F'^2+2FF'cos\theta}

                                          = \sqrt{F^2+F'^2+2FF'cos180}

                                          = \sqrt{F^2+F'^2-2FF'}

                                         = \sqrt{(F'-F)^2}

                                         = F' - F

                                         = 2790 N - 2750 N

                                         = 40 N.                [ans]

The direction of resultant of two anti parallel vectors will be along the direction of bigger vector.

Hence, the net force will be 40 N backward.

You have a graduated cylinder that you use to measure volume. The cylinder
ad-work [718]

Answer:

D. 21 ml

Explanation:

Since, the cylinder is marked and graduated in the intervals if 1 ml. Therefore, the values between two consecutive ml, such as between 30 ml and 31 ml can not be determined. Because, we do not have any scale in between the ml. So, the least count of this instrument is 1 ml. This graduated cylinder can give the answers to zero decimal places, accurately. And it can not determine any decimal value due to its graduating or the marking limitation. So, all the options given, contain a decimal value, except for the option D. In option D there is no decimal value, hence it is a correct answer.

D. 21 ml

The intensity of sunlight incident on the surface of a solar panel on your roof is 1000 W/m^2. Calculate the sunlight energy abs
melisa1 [442]

Answer:

8.64 x 10^7 J

Explanation:

Intensity of sunlight, I = 1000 W/m^2

Length of panel, L = 6 m

Width of panel, W = 4 m

Area of the panel, A = L x W = 6 x 4 = 24 m^2

time, t = 1 hour = 3600 second

Energy = Intensity x area of panel x time

E = 1000 x 24 x 3600 = 8.64 x 10^7 J

What condition in the nucleus are likely to result in the nucleus breaking apart?
8090 [49]
My answer -

The condition in the nucleus are likely to result in the nucleus breaking apart is called the nuclear fission. But if it is the atomic nucleus that is breaking apart, it should be called as the nuclear fusion. These things usually can be caused by the decay of the radioactive and the nuclear reaction.
