The angle of incidence and the angle of reflection are equal,
and they're both defined as the angle between the light ray
and the normal (perpendicular) to the mirror.

If the light ray comes in at an angle of 50° to the mirror, then the
angle of incidence is (90° - 50°) = 40°, the angle of reflection is
also 40°, and the light ray is redirected through a total angle of 80°.

Data:

Vo = 120 ft / s

α = 30°

t = 5 s

x = ?

Formulas:

cos(α) = Vo,x / Vo => Vo,x = Vo * cos(α)

x = Vo,x * t

Calculations:

Vo,x = 120 ft / s * cos(30) = 103.92 ft /s

x = 103.92 ft/s * 5 s = 519.6 ft

A block slides forward 4.73 m while being pulled back by a 39.7 N force at 142° from the direction of motion. How much work does
lubasha [3.4K]

Answer:

work done by the force, W = -147.97 J

Given:

displacement of the box, s = 4.73 m

angle between force and displacement, \theta = 142^{\circ}

Force, F = 39.7 N

Solution:

Work done by the force can be expressed as the dot product of Force, F and displacement 's' is given by:

W = Fscos\theta

W = 39.7\times 4.73\times cos142^{\circ}

W = -147.97 J

where negative sign indicates that work is done on the block

Whats the standard unit for measuring mass
stich3 [128]
Kilograms

The kilogram is the SI base unit of mass and is equal to the mass of the international prototype of the kilogram, a platinum-iridium standard that is kept at the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM)

Hope this helps!

Two representative elements are in the same period of the periodic table. Which statement correctly describes the atoms of the t
oksian1 [2.3K]

Elements in the periodic table are arranged in the increasing order of their atomic number.

An atom will contain equal amount of protons and electrons. If two elements are in same period of periodic table then these elements will have same number of electrons.

Helium is one of the seven elements which are called as noble gases. This gas is odorless, tasteless and colorless which makes it unique from other elements.

It has two valence electrons while atoms of other elements in the group have 8 valence electrons.

Lithium has one valence electron, while calcium atom has 2 valence electrons.

The highest level of energy is due valence electrons of an atom.  The correct answer is Lithium.

Fluorine element has 9 electrons. There are 2 electrons in the first energy level and seven electrons in the second energy level.
