Explain why Earth does not have as many craters as Mars, Mercury, and the Moon.

Physics

Answer:

The reason is mainly because Earth  has an atmosphere.

Explanation:

We don't see as many craters in our planet as most of them have been eroded away by wind, water, volcanic activity or any other forces. Earth is also surrounded by an atmosphere which other planets like Mars, Mercury and the Moon lacks. The atmosphere reduces the impact of meteoroids when they hit the surface of a planet as the atmosphere disintegrates them into smaller particles. Also, the atmosphere creates a planet's own weather condition, no atmosphere means no weather. So, planets like Mars, Mercury where there is no atmosphere, there is no weather to erode away the craters. Hence, most of them are still visible on their surfaces.

Cheetah mothers perform a number of different behaviors. They and their cubs stay in one place for only four days, moving on bef
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

Cheetah cubs are in danger from predators like lions and hyenas which can track their prey by scent and so the mother and her cubs leave an area when their scent is too strong so that they are not hunted and the cubs survive.

Mother Cheetahs also train their cubs to hunt so that they may get food for themselves which will ensure their survival as well thus showing that both of these practices can impact on reproductive success.

True or False. Father of a multitude" obeyed God's command to kill His son because the Ten Commandments had not yet been given.
velikii [3]

Answer:

Explanation:

The father of the Multitude was Abraham. And he did precede the 10 commandments. But the story really has nothing to do with the 10 commandments.

He obeyed God's Command because it was God who issued it. Abraham had complete faith in God's ability to make things come out right. The sacrifice of Isaac was a test of faith.

I would advise you to answer true, but whoever wrote the question employed a twisted kind of logic. The sacrifice of Isaac had nothing to do with the 10 commandments. <u><em>Thou Shalt not murde</em></u>r is not really covered by this circumstance.

So true might not be the correct answer. The question is very complex and does not lend itself to a simple True/ False answer.

Calculate the energy, wavelength, and frequency of the emitted photon when an electron moves from an energy level of -3.40 eV to
jasenka [17]

Answer:

(a) The energy of the photon is 1.632 x 10^{-8} J.

(b) The wavelength of the photon is 1.2 x 10^{-17} m.

(c) The frequency of the photon is 2.47 x 10^{25} Hz.

Explanation:

Let;

E_{1} = -13.60 ev

E_{2} = -3.40 ev

(a) Energy of the emitted photon can be determined as;

E_{2} - E_{1} = -3.40 - (-13.60)

           = -3.40 + 13.60

           = 10.20 eV

           = 10.20(1.6 x 10^{-9})

E_{2} - E_{1} = 1.632 x 10^{-8} Joules

The energy of the emitted photon is 10.20 eV (or 1.632 x 10^{-8} Joules).

(b) The wavelength, λ, can be determined as;

E = (hc)/ λ

where: E is the energy of the photon, h is the Planck's constant (6.6 x 10^{-34} Js), c is the speed of light (3 x 10^{8} m/s) and λ is the wavelength.

10.20(1.6 x 10^{-9}) = (6.6 x 10^{-34} * 3 x 10^{8})/ λ

λ = \frac{1.98*10^{-25} }{1.632*10^{-8} }

  = 1.213 x 10^{-17}

Wavelength of the photon is 1.2 x 10^{-17} m.

(c) The frequency can be determined by;

E = hf

where f is the frequency of the photon.

1.632 x 10^{-8}  = 6.6 x 10^{-34} x f

f = \frac{1.632*10^{-8} }{6.6*10^{-34} }

 = 2.47 x 10^{25} Hz

Frequency of the emitted photon is 2.47 x 10^{25} Hz.
