A rocket powered sled is accelerating along a straight, level track with a constant acceleration of magnitude 20 m/s2. By how mu
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

the change in speed of the sled after 3.0 s is 60 m/s.

Explanation:

Given;

constant acceleration of the sled, a = 20 m/s²

change in time of motion, dt = 3.0 s

The change in speed of the sled after 3.0 s is calculated as;

a = \frac{dv}{dt} \\\\dv = a \times dt\\\\dv = 20 \ \times \ 3\\\\dv = 60 \ m/s

Therefore, the change in speed of the sled after 3.0 s is 60 m/s.

A converging lens with a focal length of 4.0 cm is to the left of a second identical lens. When a feather is placed 12 cm to the
frez [133]

The distance of separation between the lenses is determined as 12 cm.

<h3>Distance of image formed by the first lens</h3>

The distance of the image formed by the first lens is calculated as follows;

1/d₁ = 1/f - 1/di₀

1/di₁ = 1/4 - 1/12

1/di₁ = 2/12

1/di₁ = 1/6

di₁ = 6 cm

<h3>Find the final position of the image</h3>

Use magnification formula as shown below;

M = (di₁di₂)/(d₀₁d₀₂)

1 = (di₁di₂)/(d₀₁d₀₂)

di₂ = (d₀₁d₀₂)/(di₁)

di₂ = (12 x d₀₂)/(6)

di₂ = 2d₀₂

1/f = 1/ d₀₂ + 1/di₂

1/f =  1/ d₀₂ + 1/2d₀₂

1/f = 1.5/d₀₂

d₀₂ = 1.5f

d₀₂ = 1.5(4 cm) = 6 cm

<h3>Distance between the two converging lens</h3>

D = di₁ + d₀₂

D = 6 cm + 6 cm

D = 12 cm

Thus, the distance of separation between the lenses is determined as 12 cm.

A person consumes a snack containing 14 food calories (14kcal). what is the power this food produces if it is to be "burned off"
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

B) 2.7W

Explanation:

Converting Cal to Joule

        1 cal = 4.186J

        14 kcal = 14 x 1000 x 4.186

                     = 58604 J

Converting hour to seconds

             6 hours = 6 x 60 x 60 seconds

                           = 21600 seconds

Power is the time rate of doing work.

Power = Work/Time

P = (58604) / (21600)

P = 2.7W
