Answer: 3.75 atm

Explanation:

Boyle's Law: This law states that pressure is inversely proportional to the volume of the gas at constant temperature and number of moles.

P\propto \frac{1}{V}     (At constant temperature and number of moles)

P_1V_1=P_2V_2

where,

P_1 = initial pressure of gas = 1.8 atm

P_2 = final pressure of gas = ?

V_1 = initial volume of gas = 2.5 L

V_2 = final volume of gas = 1.2 L

Now put all the given values in the above equation, we get the final pressure of gas.

1.8\times 2.5=P_2\times 1.2

P_2=3.75atm

Therefore, the final pressure of the gas will be 3.75 atm

Boyle's Law
P1V1 = P2V2
1.8 atm * 2.5 L = P2 * 1.2 L
1.8 atm * 2.5 L / 1.2 L = P2
3.75 atm = P2
Using significant digits, the answer is 3.8 atm

Calculate the density of CO2 in g/cm3 at room temperature(25 degrees Celsuis) and pressure(1 atm) assuming it acts as an ideal g
Readme [11.4K]

Answer:

density=1.8x10^{-3}g/mL

Explanation:

Hello,

Considering the ideal equation of state:

PV=nRT

The moles are defined in terms of mass as follows:

n=\frac{m}{M}

Whereas M the gas' molar mass, thus:

PV=\frac{mRT}{M}

Now, since the density is defined as the quotient between the mass and the volume, we get:

P=\frac{m}{V} \frac{RT}{M}

Solving for m/V:

density= m/V=\frac{PM}{RT}

Thus, the result is given by:

density=\frac{(1atm)(44g/mol)}{[0.082atm*L/(mol*K)]*298.15K} \\density=1.8g/L=1.8x10^{-3}g/mL

Best regards.

Aqueous hydrobromic acid hbr will react with solid sodium hydroxide naoh to produce aqueous sodium bromide nabr and liquid water
Natalka [10]
 Balanced equation is

HBr + NaOH ----> NaBr + H2O

Using molar masses

80.912 g HBr reacts with  39.997 g of Naoh to give 18.007 g water

so 1 gram of NaOH reacts with 2.023 g of HBR
and 5.7 reacts with 11.531 g HBr so we have excess HBr in this reaction

Mass  of water produced  =    (5.7 * 18.007 / 39.997  =  2.6 g to 2 sig figs

Answer: The scientific method is an empirical method of acquiring knowledge that has characterized the development of science since at least the 17th century. It involves careful observation, applying rigorous skepticism about what is observed, given that cognitive assumptions can distort how one interprets the observation.
