Answer:

The flow area at the location where the Mach number is 0.9 is 25.24 cm²

Explanation:

Here we have for isentropic flow;

\frac{A}{A^*} = \frac{1}{M}(\frac{2}{k+1} (1+\frac{k-1}{2}M^2))^{(\frac{k+1}{2(k-1)} )

Where:

A = Area of flow = 36 cm²

M = Mach number at section of = 1.8

k = Specific heat ratio = 1.4

A* = Area at the throat

Therefore, plugging the values we get

\frac{36}{A^*} = \frac{1}{1.8}(\frac{2}{1.4+1} (1+\frac{1.4-1}{2}1.8^2))^{(\frac{1.4+1}{2(1.4-1)} ) = 1.439

Therefore, A* = 36/1.439 = 25.01769 cm²

Where the Mach number is 0.9, we have

\frac{A}{25.02} = \frac{1}{0.9}(\frac{2}{1.4+1} (1+\frac{1.4-1}{2}0.9^2))^{(\frac{1.4+1}{2(1.4-1)} ) = 1.009

Therefore A = 25.020× 1.009 = 25.24 cm²

The flow area at the location where the Mach number is 0.9 = 25.24 cm².

A wagon wheel consists of 8 spokes of uniform diameter, each of mass ms and length L cm. The outer ring has a mass mring. What i
just olya [345]

Answer:

The moment of inertial of the wheel,  I = 8(\frac{1}{3}M_sL^2 ) + M_rL^2

Explanation:

Given;

8 spokes of uniform diameter

mass of each spoke, = M_s

length of each spoke, = L

mass of outer ring, = M_r

The moment of inertial of the wheel will be calculated as;

I = 8I_{spoke} + I_{ring}

where;

I_{spoke is the moment of inertia of each spoke

I_{ring is the moment of inertia of the rim

Moment of inertia of each spoke =\frac{1}{3}M_sL^2

Moment of inertial of the wheel

I = 8(\frac{1}{3}M_sL^2 ) + M_rL^2

A satellite is in a circular orbit around an unknown planet. The satellite has a speed of 1.75 104 m/s, and the radius of the or
Arisa [49]

Answer:

v = 1.32 10² m

Explanation:

In this case we are going to use the universal gravitation equation and Newton's second law

    F = G m M / r²

    F = m a

In this case the acceleration is centripetal

    a = v² / r

The force is given by the gravitational force

    G m M / r² = m v² / r

    G  M/r =  v²

Let's calculate the mass of the planet

    M = v² r / G

    M = (1.75 10⁴)² 5.00 10⁶ / 6.67 10⁻¹¹

    M = 2.30 10²¹ kg

With this die we clear the equation to find the orbit of the second satellite

    v = √ G M / r

    v = √ (6.67 10⁻¹¹ 2.30 10²¹ / 8.75 10⁶)

    v = 1.32 10² m
