Answer:

Volume of hydrogen gas = 0.1539dm3

Explanation:

Equation of the reaction

Mg(s) + 2HCl --> MgCl2(aq) + H2(g)

Molar concentration of HCl = 0.2mol/dm3

Mass of magnesium = 0.0243g

Volume of HCl = 0.05dm3

No of moles of HCl = Volume * molar concentration

= 0.05 * 0.5

= 0.01mol

No of moles of Magnesium = mass/molecular weight

Molecular weight of Magnesium = 24g/mol

No of moles of magnesium = 0.0243/24

= 0.001013mol

Using stoichiometry,

Since 1 mole of Magnesium metal reacted with 2 moles of HCl acid

HCl is the limiting reagent.

Therefore, 1 mole of hydrogen gas is given off.

0.005 mole of hydrogen is given off.

Using ideal gas law, PV = nRT

Volume = (0.005 * 0.0821 * 300)/0.8

= 0.1539dm3

gladu [14]

Answer:

Josh is running at a speed of 9.09 yards per second.

Josh's velocity is 9.09 East.

Josh's force is 900 N.

Aaron Donald's force is 845 N.

Yes Josh scores the touchdown because he is faster and has more mass than Donald.

Explanation:

Josh scores the touchdown as he is heavier and faster than Donald.

Formulas are:

Force= mass x acceleration

Speed= distance divided by time.

Velocity= distance divided by time.

A solution is created by dissolving 13.0 grams of ammonium chloride in enough water to make 295 mL of solution. How many moles o
Masja [62]

Answer:

(a) Moles of ammonium chloride = 0.243 moles

(b) Molarity_{ammonium\ chloride}=0.824\ M

(c) 60.68 mL

Explanation:

(a) Mass of ammonium chloride = 13.0 g

Molar mass of ammonium chloride = 53.491 g/mol

The formula for the calculation of moles is shown below:

moles = \frac{Mass\ taken}{Molar\ mass}

Thus,

Moles= \frac{13.0\ g}{53.491\ g/mol}

<u>Moles of ammonium chloride = 0.243 moles</u>

(b) Moles of ammonium chloride = 0.243 moles

Volume = 295 mL = 0.295 L ( 1 mL = 0.001 L)

Molarity=\frac{Moles\ of\ solute}{Volume\ of\ the\ solution}

Molarity_{ammonium\ chloride}=\frac{0.243}{0.295}

Molarity_{ammonium\ chloride}=0.824\ M

(c) Moles of ammonium chloride = 0.0500 moles

Volume = ?

Molarity = 0.824 M

Molarity=\frac{Moles\ of\ solute}{Volume\ of\ the\ solution}

0.824\ M=\frac{0.0500}{Volume}

<u>Volume = 0.05 / 0.824 L = 0.06068 L = 60.68 mL</u>

In the reaction: CH3COO-+NH4+----------CH3COOH+NH3 what is the reactant acid and its conjugate base?
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer : The reactant acid and conjugate base in this reaction is, NH_4^ and NH_3.

Explanation :

Conjugate acid : A species that is formed by receiving of a proton (H^+) by a base is known as conjugate acid.

Conjugate base : A species that is formed by donating of a proton by an acid is known as conjugate base.

The given chemical reaction is,

CH_3COO^-+NH_4^+\rightleftharpoons CH_3COOH+NH_3

In this reaction, CH_3COO^-(base) react with NH_4^(acid) to give CH_3COOH(conjugate acid) and NH_3(conjugate base).

Therefore, the reactant acid and conjugate base in this reaction is, NH_4^ and NH_3.
