Answer:

Volume of hydrogen gas = 0.1539dm3

Explanation:

Equation of the reaction

Mg(s) + 2HCl --> MgCl2(aq) + H2(g)

Molar concentration of HCl = 0.2mol/dm3

Mass of magnesium = 0.0243g

Volume of HCl = 0.05dm3

No of moles of HCl = Volume * molar concentration

= 0.05 * 0.5

= 0.01mol

No of moles of Magnesium = mass/molecular weight

Molecular weight of Magnesium = 24g/mol

No of moles of magnesium = 0.0243/24

= 0.001013mol

Using stoichiometry,

Since 1 mole of Magnesium metal reacted with 2 moles of HCl acid

HCl is the limiting reagent.

Therefore, 1 mole of hydrogen gas is given off.

0.005 mole of hydrogen is given off.

Using ideal gas law, PV = nRT

Volume = (0.005 * 0.0821 * 300)/0.8

= 0.1539dm3

How far will a car go that is moving at 10 m/s in 1 hour
Airida [17]

Answer:

36,000 miles in one hour.

Explanation:

Because there are 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour so to find out how many seconds are in an hour you multipy 60x60 to get 3600. Then to find out how many miles in the 3600 seconds you multiply 10 x 3600 to get 36000.

We observe a distant object in space and see that the spectral lines for hydrogen in the object's light appear at a shorter wave
MrMuchimi

Answer:

This tells us the radial velocity of the object and that the object is approaching or coming towards us.

Explanation:

Certain chemicals radiate with particular wavelengths or colors  when their temperature is raised or when they are charged electrically. Also observable are dark strokes separating the spectrum known as absorption lines

These spectral lines of chemicals are well known as stated above and from the phenomenon of Doppler effect, spectroscopy can be used to detect the movement of a distant object by the change of the emitted frequency of the wavelength

The Doppler effect is used in calculating the radial velocity of a distant object due to the fact that an approaching object compresses its emitted signal wavelength while a receding object has a longer wavelength than normal

What forces hold network solids together?
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

Covalent solids, also called network solids, are solids that are held together by covalent bonds. As such, they need localized electrons (shared between the atoms) and therefore the atoms are arranged in fixed geometries. Distortion far from this geometry can only occur through a breaking of covalent sigma bonds.
