In the game of Pick-A-Ball, there are 10 colored balls: 2 red, 4 white, and 4 blue. The balls have been placed into a small buck

et, and the bucket has been shaken thoroughly. You will be asked to reach into the bucket without looking and select 2 balls. Because the bucket has been shaken thoroughly, you can assume that each individual ball is selected at random with equal likelihood of being chosen. It is common in games of chance to be rewarded for obtaining unlikely results. For example, in the game of poker, hands that are less likely to occur tend to trump hands that are more likely to occur. That same concept applies in this game. It costs $10 to play Pick-A-Ball, and your prize is the reciprocal of the probability of obtaining your exact sequence of results, expressed in dollars. For example, if the probability of obtaining your exact sequence of results is 0.10, your prize is 1/0.10 and you break even. Therefore, to make a positive profit from playing Pick-A-Ball, the probability of obtaining your results must be ower than 0.10. When you reach into the bucket, your result is based on a simulation. In a simulation, random events are modeled in such a way that the simulated outcomes closely match real-world outcomes. In this simulation, your result is simulated based on the robabiliies of obtaining a ball of a particular color. Now, close your eyes! Reach into the bucket, and pick a ball.

Hello,

This question you posted is incomplete but I was able to get the complete question. I hope it would be of help to you!

1. What is the probability of selecting the color of ball that you just selected?___

Don't put your first ball back in the bucket now reach again, no peeking and pick your second ball.( Click the pick a ball icon to simulate reaching into the bucket and select your next ball)

2. What is the probability of selecting the color of ball that you just did_____

3.what is the probability of obtaining your exact sequence of result?____

4. What is your prize____

5. What is your profit from pick a ball___

Answer:

1. The probability of selecting the color of ball that you picked. (White)

The color is white. And total balls are 10

= 4/10

= 0.4

2. After first ball was picked out, you now have 3 whites left and total balls 9. probability of selecting the color of ball that you picked = 3/9

= 0.3333

3. Probability of getting exact sequence

= 0.3333x0.4

= 0.1333

4. The prize = 1/0.1333

= 7.5

5. The price would be 7.5 - 10

= -2.5

Thank you!

What is the slope of у>- 2х + 3
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

-2x

Step-by-step explanation:

Graph

y > −2x + 3

Use the slope-intercept form to find the slope and y-intercept.

The slope-intercept form is y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

y = mx + b

Find the values of m and b using the form y = mx + b. m = −2

b = 3

The slope of the line is the value of m, and the y-intercept is the value of b.

Slope: −2

intercept: (0, 3)

Graph a dashed line, then shade the area above the boundary line since y is greater than

−2x + 3.

y > −2x + 3

Given the linear equation, 2x +4= 6, find the rate, initial value, and specific value.
kap26 [50]

Answer: B. The rate is 2, the initial value is 4, and the specific value is 6.

Step-by-step explanation:

for a linear function y = a*x + b

Rate = coefficient that is multiplicating the variable. ( a in this case)

Initial value = value taken of y, when we have x = 0 (b in this case)

Specific value = value forced on y.

In this case, we have:

y = 6 = 2*x + 4

Then:

The coefficient multiplicating x is 2, so the rate is 2.

The constant term is 4, so the initial value is 4.

The value equal to y is 6, so the specific value is 6.

The correct option is B.

Yes I wanted to know what is the answer
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

14 flats

5 plants

Step-by-step explanation:

First you would do 89/6 but since that doesn’t divide nicely you can do 90/6 to get 15 then subtract 1 since the original number was 89 and you would get 14

The 14 times 6 would get you 84

Then subtract 84 from 89 and you get 5 plants left over ^^

3 Ximena draws an X shape in the coordinate plane as shown. Draw the images of
VARVARA [1.3K]

When a shape is rotated, it must be rotated around a point.

See attachment for the image of each rotation.

To do this, the top coordinates of the X shape will be transformed using the appropriate rotation rule; the same rule will then be applied to the other parts of the X shape.

The top coordinates of the X shape are:

A = (0,0)

B = (1,0)

C = (3,0)

D =(4,0)

For 90 degrees counterclockwise rotation, the rule is:

(x,y) \to (-y,x)

So, we have:

A' = (0,0)

B' = (0,1)

C' = (0,3)

D' = (0,4)

For 180 degrees rotation, the rule is:

(x,y) \to (-x,-y)

So, we have:

A' = (0,0)

B' = (-1,0)

C' = (-3,0)

D' = (-4,0)

For 270 degrees counter rotation, the rule is:

(x,y) \to (y,-x)

So, we have:

A' = (0,0)

B' = (0,-1)

C' = (0,-3)

D' = (0,-4)

See attachment for the image of each rotation
