4. part of it is work ethic. america puts high value on work and companies usually don't hire the elderly because younger people usually have good minds you know. overall i think america is a country that really values youth
5. individually you can go to nursing homes or homes that house elderly people that are being taken care of to show some respect and to show the value you have for them. This would boost the value of elderly status in the U.S, but it would also benefit you and the elderly. They would be happy to see you, and you get the good feeling of being able to visit them

Explanation: I don't know it just makes sense i guess?
every situation has it's pros & cons such as this pandemic. almost every country is on lockdown which hurts the economy all around the world. we're "locked" in our houses, most people work from home & schools are either cancelled or online classes are being held. this situation puts a lot of anxiety on many people, makes many people's mental health worse if they can't cope. if that's the case self-management seems to be harder to do. on the other side if people can easily cope with this position or they're more introverted or e.g have social anxiety their self-management may be easier since they don't need to press themselves into situations with other people. this is just a generalisation & anything can be otherwise as i stated but that's my view based on people's reaction/feelings/thoughts around me.
