Y = v0t + 1/2gt^2.
v0 is 0 as it is at rest initially. So now we have y=1/2gt^2 so 60=1/2(9.8)t^2 and we must solve for t. t= about 3.5 seconds. Since the acceleration is 9.8 m/s^2 we do 9.8 m/s^2 times 3.5 seconds to get 34.3 m/s.

How do cells use food to make energy and maintain homeostasis?
vladimir1956 [14]

Homeostasis is the state of maintaining steady internal conditions by the living organisms. Cells obtain energy through the process of cellular respiration. It is a metabolic process of conversion of the biochemical energy from the nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (ATP). It also maintains the temperature of the body. The energy produced during this process is used in the cell division and repair of the cells by the breakdown of ATP and maintains homeostasis. They exchange substances with the new cells and also eliminate the wastes thereby maintaining homeostasis.

What is the gravity force between two stars with mass of 5,000,000 kg and 1,000,000 kg if the distance between them is 100 m
Luda [366]

Answer:

0.0334N

Explanation:

Given parameters:

M1  = 5 x 10⁶kg

M2  = 1 x 10⁶kg

Distance  = 100m

Unknown:

Gravitational force  = ?

Solution:

To solve this problem, we use the Newton's law of universal gravitation.

     Fg  = \frac{G m1 m2}{r^{2} }

G is the universal gravitation constant

m is the mass

r is the distance

         Fg  = \frac{6.67 x 10^{-11} x 5 x 10^{6}  x 1 x 10^{6} }{100^{2} }   = 0.0334N

What was the hiker's total displacement?<br>A.24 km  B.4 km north  C.14 km northeast  D.0 km
kipiarov [429]
We can see it as two movements: one on the north-south axis and one on the west-east axis.

On the north-south Axis, the hiker went 8 km north and 4 km south, so in total the hiker went 4 km north (we can subtract one for the other and the direction remains that which was bigger)

On the west-easth Axis, the hiker went 6 km east and 6 km west, so in total the hiker  didn't move on this axis! or, he/she moved but then "came back"

So in total, the hiker only moved4 km north - answer B.

How will the behavior of the gases in the piston chamber change if more pressure is applied to the piston?
allsm [11]
Here molecules of gas remains constant. If more pressure is applied to the piston, gaseous molecules will come closer to each other. Hence their volume decreases and density increases. Hope this helps you.
