Answer:

Salt

Explanation:

Rachel is given 50 grams each of three different white powders that look very similar. She is told that each of these powders is commonly used in cooking. Without tasting any of them, she is asked to try to identify them. She is told the amounts of sugar and salt that can each be dissolved in 100 mL of water. Substance Solubility (g per 100 mL water) table sugar 211 table salt 36 flour not soluble Rachel adds all 50 grams of one powder to 100 mL of water and stirs it for a while. Afterwards, she has a clear liquid with some powder on the bottom.  Which of the following could this powder have been?  A.  flour  B.  sugar  C.  salt  D.  all of these

Amiraneli [1.4K]
Mountains, tops of buildings, and high-flying aircraft are all part of Earth's atmosphere, no matter how high they are. On the other hand, space doesn't belong to our atmosphere, it is outside of it. Having this in mind, the best location to place a telescope used to observe x-rays from stars is in space.

When landing after a spectacular somersault, a 35.0 kg gymnast decelerates by pushing straight down on the mat. calculate the fo
Sliva [168]

The deceleration experienced by the gymnast is the 9 times of the acceleration due to gravity.

Now from Newton`s  first law, the net force on gymnast,

F_{net} =F-W=ma

Here, W is the weight of the gymnast and a is the acceleration experienced by the gymnast (9\times g acceleration due to gravity)

Therefore,

F= ma+W OR F=ma+mg=m(g+a)

Given m = 30 kg anda=9\times g=9\times 9.8 m/s^{2} =88.2 m/s^{2}

Substituting these values in above formula and calculate the force exerted by the gymnast,

F=(40 kg) (88.2 m/s^{2} +9.8 m/s^{2} )

F=3.537\times10^{3}N

Explain how a step-down transformer makes electricity safe for use in homes.
Savatey [412]

Answer:

it lowers the voltage in homes

Explanation:

this is due to safety reasons as a human cant survive power line voltages which are between 150k and 760k and if you plugged anything short of a piece of 1 inch thick wire not counting insulation it would immediately start smoking and burn the cable.

A 0.68 kg squirrel is resting on a branch 8 meters above the ground. What is the gravitational potential energy of a squirrel? A
ANEK [815]

Answer:

The gravitational potential energy of a squirrel is 53.312 J.

Explanation:

We have,

Mass of a squirrel is 0.68 kg

It is placed at a height of 8 m above the ground.

It is required to find the gravitational potential energy of a squirrel. It is possessed by an object due to its position. Its formula is given by :

E=mgh\\\\E=0.68\times 9.8\times 8\\\\E=53.312\ J

So, the gravitational potential energy of a squirrel is 53.312 J.
