Four cubes of the same volume are made of different materials: lead (density 11,300 kg/m3), aluminum (density 2700 kg/m3), wood

(density 800 kg/m3), and Styrofoam (density 50 kg/m3). You place the cubes in a large container filled with water.

Answer:

1. Lead

2. Aluminum

3. Wood

4. Styrofoam

Explanation:

Specific gravity is a quantity that tells me how much an object is submerged on a fluid relating the densities:

S.G=\frac{\rho_{object}}{\rho_{fluid}}

Because all the cubes are placed on water, the density of the fluid is the same for all the cubes and S.G. is directly proportional to the density of the cube material. So, for greater density greater S.G.

The Archimedes principle states that the buoyant force is equal to the weight of water displaced, that is:

\overrightarrow{B}=-\overrightarrow{W_{displaced}}

So, the cube that submerges more is the cube that mor displace water and is the cube that has more buoyant force on it. In other words, the cubes with higher S.G. have more buoyant force, and because S.G is proportional to cube density, the cubes with more buoyant force have more density.

You can mow an average of 1400 square meters each hour. How many minutes will it take you to mow a lawn with an area of 320000 s
Ksivusya [100]

Answer:

time required to mow lawn is 1274.06 minutes

Explanation:

given data

average mow = 1400 square meters each hour

area = 320000 square feet

to find out

How many minutes will take to mow lawn

solution

we know that here 1 square feet is equal to 0.092903 square meter

so 320000 square feet will be = 0.09203 × 320000 = 29728.9728 square meter

so time required is express as

time required = \frac{distance}{speed}

time required = \frac{29728.9728}{1400}

time required = 21.23 hours

so time required = 21.23 × 60 min = 1274.06

time required to mow lawn is 1274.06 minutes

What is the acceleration of an object that takes 20 sec to change from a speed of 200 m/s to 300 m/s ?
marin [14]

<u>Given</u><u>:</u>

  • initial velocity, u = 200 m/s

  • Final velocity, v = 300 m/s

  • Time taken, t = 20 sec

<u>To</u><u> </u><u>be</u><u> </u><u>calculated</u><u>:</u>

Calculate the acceleration of given object ?

<u>Formula</u><u> </u><u>used</u><u>:</u>

Acceleration = v - u / t

<u>Solution</u><u>:</u>

We know that,

Acceleration = v - u / t

☆ Substituting the values in the above formula,we get

Acceleration ⇒ 300 - 200 / 20

⇒ 100/20

⇒ 5 m/s²
