Answer:

1/100,000

Explanation:

its radius is only about 1/100,000 of the total radius of the atom. if an atom were the size of a football stadium, the nucleus would be about the size of a pea! Electrons have virtually no mass, but protons and neutrons have a lot of mass for their size. As a result, the nucleus has virtually all the mass of an atom.

Is methane (CH4) a covalent or ionic bond? Give reasons and explain why is it so.
masha68 [24]
Covalent.

Ionic Bond = Two atoms at which one of them are positive, one of them are negative. Whoever is more reactive will steal the electron and keep it, and they will form a bond. Most likely will be a metal ion (+Ve) and a non-metal ion (-ve).

Covalent = Non-metal bond to non-metal. They share electrons.

Although Hydrogen is positively charged, they are "technically" sharing electron, hence is covalent

When balancing a chemical equation, can a coefficient within a chemical equation be adjusted to balance the chemical equation?
malfutka [58]

When balancing a chemical equation, a coefficient within a chemical equation can be adjusted to balance the chemical equation.

What is a Chemical equation?

This is defined as a written expression of a chemical reaction and contains the reactants and products which are involved.

It also has to be balanced which means that the number of atoms of elements on the reactants side has to be equal to that on the product side.

This is therefore the reason why only coefficients are adjusted to ensure the equation is balanced. Other parts such as the superscripts and subscripts shouldn't be adjusted in this scenario.

Explain the reason that the atomic emission spectrum of hydrogen contains only four lines.
Novay_Z [31]

Answer:

Though a hydrogen atom has only one electron, it contains a large number of shells, so when this single electron jumps from one shell to another, a photon is emitted, and the energy difference of the shells causes different wavelengths to be released... hence, mono-electronic hydrogen has many spectral lines.

A 1.50-liter sample of dry air in a cylinder exerts a pressure of 3.0 atmospheres at a temperature of 25°C. Without change in te
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

4.5 L.

Explanation:

 • We can use the general law of ideal gas: PV = nRT.

where, P is the pressure of the gas in atm.

V is the volume of the gas in L.

n is the no. of moles of the gas in mol.

R is the general gas constant,

T is the temperature of the gas in K.

 • If n and T are constant, and have different values of P and V:

(P₁V₁) = (P₂V₂)

 • Knowing that:

P₁ = 3.0 atm, V₁ = 1.5 L,

P₂ = 1.0 atm, V₂ = ??? L.

 • Applying in the above equation

(P₁V₁) = (P₂V₂)

∴ V₂ = (P₁V₁)/P₂ = (1.5 L)(3.0 atm)/(1.0 atm) = 4.5 L.

So, the right choice is: 4.5 L.
