Answer:

3300.85 g

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of ZnCl₂ produced = ?

Mass of H₂ produced = 49.8 g

Solution:

Chemical equation:

Zn + 2HCl     →    ZnCl₂ + H₂

Number of moles of  H₂:

Number of moles = mass/molar mass

Number  of moles = 49.8 g/ 2.056 g/mol

Number  of moles = 24.22 mol

Now we will compare the moles of H₂ with ZnCl₂ form balance chemical equation.

                         H₂              :              ZnCl₂

                          1                :                   1

                        24.22         :              24.22

Mass of ZnCl₂:

Mass = number of moles × molar mass

Mass =  24.22 × 136.286 g/mol

Mass = 3300.85 g

A protein has a binding site for a single ligand with a A.G-16.7 KJ/mol at 298 K. What is Keg for this reaction?
mafiozo [28]

Explanation:

The given data is as follows.

          \Delta_{r} G = -16.7 kJ/mol = -16.7 \times 10^{3},       T = 298 K

          R = 8.314 J/mol K,       K_{eq} = ?

Relation between \Delta_{r} G and K_{eq} is as follows.

                \Delta_{r} G = -RT ln K_{eq}

Hence, putting the values into the above equation as follows.

                \Delta_{r} G = -RT ln K_{eq}

                        -16.7 \times 10^{3} J/mol = -8.314 J/mol K \times 298 K ln K_{eq}

                     ln K_{eq} = \frac{-16.7 \times 10^{3} J/mol}{-8.314 J/mol K \times 298 K}

                                         = 6.740

                            K_{eq} = antilog (6.740)

                                            = 846

Thus, we can conclude that K_{eq} for given values is 846.

1) An atom of nitrogen has 7 protons. How many protons does an atom of silicon have? ______2) The element zinc (Zn) has an atomi
Lady_Fox [76]

Answer :

(1) The number of protons in silicon is, 14

(2) The number of neutrons in zinc is, 35

Explanation :

Atomic number is defined as the number of protons or number of electrons.

Atomic number = number of protons = number of electrons

Mass number is defined as the sum of number of protons and number of neutrons.

Number of neutrons = Mass number - Number of protons

Prat 1 :

As we know that, silicon is a metalloid which belongs to group 14 and period 3.

The atomic number of silicon = 14

Atomic number = Number of protons = 14

Part 2 :

The given element is, zinc (Zn)

Atomic number of Zn = 30

Atomic number = Number of protons = 30

Mass number of Zn = 65

Number of neutrons = Mass number - Number of protons

Number of neutrons = 65 - 30

Number of neutrons = 35

What are indicators? How methyl orange and phenolphthalein changes their colour in acidic and basic solutions? How litmus paper
bixtya [17]

Answer:

See the answer below

Explanation:

In chemistry, indicators are substances that are capable of changing colors with respect to the pH. Each indicator has its characteristic color in acidic pH and another characteristic color in alkaline pH.

Methyl orange indicator appears red in acidic solution and yellow in basic solutions. Phenolphthalein is usually colorless in acidic solutions and appears pink in basic solutions. A red litmus paper will turn blue in alkaline solutions while a blue litmus paper will turn red in acidic solutions.

(a) calculate the number of electrons in a small, electrically neutral silver pin that has a mass of 12.0 g. silver has 47 elect
Jet001 [13]

First calculate for number of moles:

moles Ag = 12 g / (107.87 g / mol)

moles Ag = 0.111 mol

Convert to atoms using Avogadros number:

atoms Ag = 0.111 mol * (6.022 x 10^23 atoms / mol)

atoms Ag = 6.7 x 10^22 atoms

There are 47 electrons per atom, therefore:

Number of electrons = (6.7 x 10^22 atoms) * (47 electrons / atom)

<span>Number of electrons = 3.15 x 10^24 electrons</span>
