Answer:

mass of CO = 210.42 g

mass in three significant figures = 210. g

Explanation:

Given data:

mass of Fe2O3 = 0.400 Kg

mass of CO= ?

Solution:

chemical equation:

Fe2O3 + 3CO → 2Fe + 3CO2

Now we will calculate the molar mass of  Fe2O3 and CO.

Molar mass of  Fe2O3 = (55.845 × 2) + (16 × 3) = 159.69 g/mol

Molar mass of CO = 12+ 16 = 28 g/mol

now we will convert the kg of Fe2O3 in g.

mass of Fe2O3 = 0.400 kg × 1000 = 400 g

number of moles of Fe2O3  = 400 g/ 159.69 g/mol = 2.505 mol

mass of CO = moles of Fe2O3 × 3( molar mass of CO)

mass of CO = 2.505 mol × 84 g/mol

mass of CO = 210.42 g

mass in three significant figures = 210. g

<u>Answer:</u>

<em>The number of grams of CO that can react with 0.400 kg of Fe_2 O_3 is 210 g.</em>

<em></em>

<u>Explanation:</u>

The balanced chemical equation is

$F e_{2} \boldsymbol{O}_{3}(s)+3 \boldsymbol{C} \boldsymbol{O}(\boldsymbol{g})>2 \boldsymbol{F e}(\boldsymbol{s})+3 \boldsymbol{C} \boldsymbol{O}_{2}(\boldsymbol{g})$

$0.400 \mathrm{kg} \mathrm{Fe}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{3} \times \frac{1000 \mathrm{g} \mathrm{Fe}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{3}}{1 \mathrm{Kg} \mathrm{Fe}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{3}} \times \frac{1 \mathrm{mol} \mathrm{Fe}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{3}}{159.7 \mathrm{gFe}_{2} \mathrm{o}_{3}} \times \frac{3 \mathrm{molCO}}{1 \mathrm{molFe}_{2} \mathrm{o}_{3}} \times \frac{28 \mathrm{g} \mathrm{CO}}{1 \mathrm{mol} \mathrm{CO}}$

=210g CO is the Answer

The number of grams of CO that can react with 0.400 kg of Fe_2 O_3 is 210 g.

describe how 250 cm³ of 0.2 mol/dm³ H2SO4 could be prepared from 150 cm³ of 1.0mol/dm³ stock solution of the acid
Reptile [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

250 cm^3 of 0.2 moldm-3 H2SO4 can be prepared from 150cm^3 of 1.0 moldm^-3 by dilution.

150cm^3 of the 1.0 moldm^-3 stock solution is measured out using a measuring cylinder and transferred into a 250 cm^3 standard volumetric flask and made up to mark. The resulting solution is now 250cm^3 of 0.2 moldm-3 H2SO4.

Balanced equation of potassium chloride and ammonium nitrate; it’s types, net and observation
ASHA 777 [7]

Potassium chloride reacts with ammonium nitrate to give ammonium chloride and potassium nitrate.

This is a type of double displacement reaction. The balanced chemical equation can be represented as,

KCl(aq)+NH_{4}NO_{3}(aq)-->NH_{4}Cl(aq)+KNO_{3}(aq)

Total ionic equation for this reaction will be,

K^{+}(aq)+Cl^{-}(aq)+NH_{4}^{+}(aq)+NO_{3}^{-}(aq)--> K^{+}(aq)+NO_{3}^{-}(aq)+NH_{4}^{+}(aq)+Cl^{-}(aq)

There is no apparent reaction as this reaction is not accompanied by the formation of a gas or a solid precipitate. We cannot observe any visual reaction as there is not net reaction taking place. All the ions remain as spectator ions.

What is the name of the product isotope formed when Radon-222 decays by alpha decay?
katrin2010 [14]

Answer: Radon-222 is generated in the uranium series from the alpha decay of radium-226, which has a half-life of 1600 years. Radon-222 itself alpha decays to polonium-218 with a half-life of approximately 3.82 days, making it the most stable isotope of radon. Its final decay product is stable lead-20

Why are fossils not found in igneous or metamorphic rocks?
xenn [34]

Answer:

Because the rock underwent lava and heat/pressure transformation. They are cooled and heated by magma, and then under go pressure. No fossils would be found in those.
