How are mathematics and science related?

Physics

The relationship between math and science is very complicated, yet at the same time very simple. In fact all scientific equations are expressed into some form of mathematical equations. Science is a body of knowledge about the Universe. Mathematics is a language that can describe relationships and change in relationships in a rational way. Science generally uses mathematics as a tool to describe science and vice versa.

Answer:

3rd order polynomial

Explanation:

Given that the increase in the order of the polynomial the error between the curve fit and measured data will decreases hence :

The polynomial order that is best to use is the 3rd order polynomial, this is because using a 3rd order polynomial will produce a less variance and a low Bias

uniform ladder of length 6.0 m and weight 300 N leans against a frictionless vertical wall. The foot of the ladder isplaced 3.0
olganol [36]

Answer:

Fx1 (6 m) sin 60 = 300 (3 m) cos 60 balancing torques about floor

Fx1 = 900 * 1/2 / 5.20 = 86.6 N this is the horizontal force that must be supplied by the wall to balance torques about the floor

This is also equal to the static force of friction that must be applied at the point of contact with the floor to balance forces in the x-direction.

Fx1 = Fx2 = 86.6 N

. A vertical electric field is set up in space to compensate for the gravitational force on a point charge. What is the required
Delicious77 [7]

(a) The required magnitude of the electric field when the point charge is an electron is 5.57 x 10⁻¹¹ N/C.

(b) The required magnitude of the electric field when the point charge is an proton is 1.02 x 10⁻⁷ N/C.

Magnitude of electric field

The magnitude of electric field is given by the following equation.

F = qE

But F = mg

mg = qE

E = mg/q

where;

 • E is the electric field
 • m is mass of the particle
 • g is acceleration due to gravity
 • q is charge of the particle

For an electron

E = (9.11 x 10⁻³¹ x 9.8)/(1.602 x 10⁻¹⁹)

E = 5.57 x 10⁻¹¹ N/C

For proton

E = (1.67 x 10⁻²⁷ x 9.8)/(1.602 x 10⁻¹⁹)

E = 1.02 x 10⁻⁷ N/C

Thus, the required vertical electric field is greater when the charge is proton.

Problem A spring was at its resting position where it is attached to a wall at its left side and a block at its right side as sh
puteri [66]

Answer:

F = 19.1 N

Explanation:

To find the force exerted by the string on the block you use the following formula:

F=kx (1)

k: spring constant = 95.5 N/m

x: displacement of the block from its equilibrium position = 0.200 m

you replace the values of k and x in the equation (1):

F=(95.5N/m)(0.200m)=19.1N

Hence, the force exterted on the block is 19.1 N
