A 1200-kg car pushes a 2100-kg truck that has a dead battery to the right. When the driver steps on the accelerator, the drive w

heels of the car push against the ground with a force of 4500 N.Sort the following forces as relevant or not relevant to this situation. The symbols are defined as follows: normal force = n, tension force = T, horizontal force of the road on the car = Frc, horizontal force of the road on the truck = F rt, weight = w, force of the car pushing on the truck = F ct, and force of the truck pushing on the car = F tc.Which are relevant?

Answer:

F_{c}=2863.6 N

Explanation:

the force make the whole truck-car system with some acceleration a.

the force acting on the system is given below

F=((m_{t}-+m_{c})*a

the acceleration is as follows

a=F/((m_{t}-+m_{c})the resultant force acting on the car results inits movement with acceleration a. F-[tex]F_{c}=ma

substituting  acceleration term

F_{c}=( (m_{t}*F)/([tex](m_{t}-+m_{c})*a

F_{c}=\frac{2100*4500}{2100+1200}

F_{c}=2863.6 N

the tension force T and the horizontal force Frt of the road are not relevant

The force of the car pushing on the truck = F ct, and force of the truck pushing on the car = F tc are relevant

A bullet is shot horizontally from shoulder height (1.5 m) with an initial speed 200 m/s. (a) How much time elapses before the b
daser333 [38]

Answer:

a) Time elapsed before the bullet hits the ground is 0.553 seconds.

b) The bullet travels horizontally 110.6 m

Explanation:

a) Consider the vertical motion of bullet

We have equation of motion s = ut + 0.5 at²

        Initial velocity, u = 0 m/s

        Acceleration, a = 9.81 m/s²

        Displacement, s = 1.5 m

     Substituting

                      s = ut + 0.5 at²

                      1.5 = 0 x t + 0.5 x 9.81 xt²

                      t = 0.553 s

      Time elapsed before the bullet hits the ground is 0.553 seconds.

b) Consider the horizontal motion of bullet

We have equation of motion s = ut + 0.5 at²

        Initial velocity, u = 200 m/s

        Acceleration, a = 0 m/s²

        Time, t = 0.553 s

     Substituting

                      s = ut + 0.5 at²

                      s = 200 x 0.553 + 0.5 x 0 x 0.553²

                      s = 110.6 m

      The bullet travels horizontally 110.6 m

What is power?
hammer [34]
We can define power as the rate of doing work, it is the work done in unit time. The SI unit of power is Watt (W) which is joules per second (J/s). Sometimes the power of motor vehicles and other machines are given in terms of Horsepower (hp) which is approximately equal to 745.7 watts.

Power is the rate at which a force is applied to an object for example.current wire

A truck initially traveling at a speed of 22 meters per second increases speed at a constant rate of 2.4 meters per second^2 for
Usimov [2.4K]
Thank you for posting your question here. The total distance traveled by the truck during the 3.2 seconds interval is 83 m. Below is the solution:

d = vit + 1/2 at^2
d = (22m/ s) (3.2s) + 1/2 (2.4m/ s^2) (3.2s)^2
d = 83 m
Hope the answer helps.
