What are the coefficients that will balance this skeleton equation? AlCl3 + NaOH → Al(OH)3 + NaCl

Chemistry

3 0

Answer:

The coefficients are 1, 3, 1, 3

Explanation:

The equation;

AlCl3 + NaOH → Al(OH)3 + NaCl

can be balanced by using the coefficients  1, 3, 1, 3, such that the balanced equation will be;

AlCl3 + 3NaOH → Al(OH)3 + 3NaCl

Chemical equations needs to be balanced so as to follow the law of conservation of mass. This occurs when the number of the different atoms of elements in the reactants side is equal to that of the products side.

How many grams of LiNO2 are required to make 250 mL of 0.75 Molarity solution?
Katarina [22]

Answer:

159 g OF LiNO2 WILL BE USED TO MAKE 0.25 L OF 0.75 M SOLUTION.

Explanation:

How many grams of LiNO2 are required to make 250 mL of 0.75 M?

First calculate the molarity in mol per dm3

0.75 M of LiNO2 reacts in 250 mL = 250 /1000 L volume

0.75 M = 0.25 L

In 1 L, the molarity of LiNO2 will be:

= (0.75 * 1/ 0.25) M

= 3 mol/dm3 of LiNO2

Next is to calculate the molarity in g/dm3:

Molarity in mol/dm3 = molarity in g/dm3 / RMM.

RMM of LiNO2

(Li = 7 , N =14 , 0 = 16)

RMM = ( 7 + 14 + 16 * 2) = 53 g/mol

Molarity in mol/dm3 =  Molarity in g/dm3 / RMM

Molarity in g/dm3 = Molarity in mol/dm3 * RMM

Molarity in g/dm3 = 3 * 53

Molarity in g/dm3 = 159 g/dm3.

So therefore, to make 250 mL of 0.75 M of LiNO2, we use 159 grams of LiO2.

A. You have a stock solution of 14.8 M NH3. How many milliliters of this solution should you dilute to make 1000.0 mL of 0.250 M
timurjin [86]

Answer:A) V = 16.892 ml

Explanation:

M1 * V1 = M2 * V2

14.8 M * V1 =0.250 M * 1000 ml

V1 = 16.892 ml
