The radius of a strontium atom is 215 pm. How many strontium atoms would have to be laid side by side to span a distance of 4.19

mm?

Answer:

0.97 ×  10⁹ strontium atoms

Explanation:

if       1 pm is equal with 10⁻⁹ mm

then  215 pm are equal to X mm

X = (215 ×  10⁻⁹) / 1 = 215 ×  10⁻⁹ mm

Now the diameter of the strontium atom is twice the radius:

diameter = 215 ×  10⁻⁹ × 2 = 430 ×  10⁻⁹ mm

if           1 strontium atom have a diameter of 430 ×  10⁻⁹ mm

then      X strontium atom are needed to be laid said by side to span a distance of 419 mm

X = (419 × 1) / (430 ×  10⁻⁹) mm = 0.97 ×  10⁹ strontium atoms

22.5 g of silver nitrate reacts with excess magnesium bromide, determine the mass
Setler [38]

Answer:

9.82 g of Mg(NO₃)₂

Explanation:

Let's determine the reaction:

2AgNO₃  +  MgBr₂  → Mg(NO₃)₂  +  2AgBr

2 moles of nitrate silver reacts with MgBr₂ in order to produce 1 mol of magnesium nitrate and silver bromide.

We determine the moles of AgNO₃

22.5 g . 1mol / 169.87g = 0.132 moles

Ratio is 2:1.

2 moles of silver nitrate can produce 1 mol of magnesium nitrate

Then, our 0.132 moles may produce (0.132 . 1)/ 2 = 0.0662 moles

We convert moles to mass:

0.0662 mol . 148.3 g/ mol = 9.82 g

Silver is a white metal that is an excellent conductor. Silver tarnishes when exposed to air and light. The density of silver is
Stells [14]

Answer:

c tarnishes in air

Explanation:

After silver has been exposed to air that contains sulphur gases, discoloration would occur. there would be darkening that is caused by the reaction with gases.When any silver object tarnishes, it brings about a disfiguring of that object. Hydrogen sulphide would be needed for this to happen. silver sulphide is black and a if a thin layer should form on any surface, it ill darken it. This  is what we refer to as tarnishing.
