Answer:

Sum of the power dissipated by each resistor connected in parallel.

Solution:

As per the question:

Let the equal value resistor be of R' \Omega each.

In parallel, the equivalent resistance is given by:

\frac{1}{R_{e}} = \frac{1}{R'} + \frac{1}{R'}

R_{e} = \frac{R'^{2}}{2R'} = \frac{R}{2}

The power dissipated in parallel is given by:

P_{d} = \frac{V^{2}}{R_{e}}

P_{d} = \frac{V^{2}}{\frac{R}{2}}

P_{d} = \frac{2V^{2}}{R}                                                 (1)

Also, it can be seen that the overall power dissipated in the resistors is equal to the sum of the power dissipated in each resistor.

Now,

Power dissipated in one resistor, P = \frac{V^{2}}{R}

Sum of the power dissipated in each resistor, P = \frac{V^{2}}{R} + \frac{V^{2}}{R} = \frac{2V^{2}}{R}         (2)

Thus from eqn (1) and (2), we can say that the sum of the power in the two resistors connected in parallel is equal.

Answer:

Explanation:

Let the two equal resistance be R. the voltage of the source is V.

When the tow resistance are connected in paralel, then the equivalent resistance is R/2 .

Power across this parallel combination

P = 2V²/R

Now when they are connected across the voltage source individually,

P1 = V²/R

P2 = V²/R

So, P = P1 + P2

Thus, the total power is the sum of the individual powers.

A faulty thermometer reads 2°C when dipped in ice at 0°C and 95°C when dipped in steam at 100°C. What would this thermometer rea
kvasek [131]

Answer:

The read will be 20.9[C]x=\frac{(y-y_{1} )}{(y_{2} -y_{1} )}*(x_{2}-x_{1})+y_{1}\\  x=\frac{(18-0 )}{(95 -0 )}*(100-2)+2\\\\x= 20.9[C]

Explanation:

This is a problem related to linear interpolation, Linear interpolation consists of tracing a line through two known points y = r (x) and calculating the intermediate values according to this line.

The equation of a known line two points (x1, y1)and (x2, y2) = (2,0) (100,95) is:

\frac{(y-y_{1} )}{(y_{2} -y_{1} )}=\frac{(x-y_{1} )}{(x_{2}-x_{1}  )}

If we clear y from the equation we have:

[tex]y=\frac{(x-y_{1})}{(x_{2}-x_{1} )}*(y_{2} -y_{1} )+y_{1}  \\replacing

I was driving along at 20 m/s , trying to change a CD and not watching where I was going. When I looked up, I found myself 46 m
vampirchik [111]

Answer:

6.46393559312 m/s²

Explanation:

Time taken to cover 56 m

t=\dfrac{56}{29}\ s

Distance covered in 0.42 seconds

0.42\times 20=8.4\ m

From equation of linear motion

s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2

8.4+20(\dfrac{56}{29}-0.42)+\dfrac{1}{2}a(\dfrac{56}{29}-0.42)^2=46\\\Rightarrow a=(46-8.4-20(\dfrac{56}{29}-0.42))\times\dfrac{2}{(\dfrac{56}{29}-0.42)^2}\\\Rightarrow a=6.46393559312\ m/s^2

The minimum acceleration is 6.46393559312 m/s²
