A positron is an antimatter version of the electron, having exactly the same mass. When a positron and an electron meet.they ann

ihilate, converting all of their mass into energy. (a) Fund the energy released, assuming negligible kinetic energybefore the annihilation. (b) If this energy is given to a proton in the form of kinetic energy, what is its velocity"? (c) If thisenergy is given to another electron in the form of kinetic energy. what is its velocity?

Answer:

Explanation:

Energy equivalent of mass m is given by Einstein''s mass energy formula

E = mc² , m is mass and c is speed of light.

mass of electron = mass of positron

= 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ kg

Total mass = 2 x 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ kg

Energy equivalent = mc²

= 2 x 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ x( 3 x 10⁸)²

= 163.8 x 10⁻¹⁵ J

b ) Let v be the velocity of proton when this energy is given to it . Mass of proton is 1.67 x 10⁻²⁷ kg

So equating the two energy

1/2 x 1.67 x 10⁻²⁷ x v² = 163.8 x 10⁻¹⁵

v² = 196 x 10¹²

v = 14 x 10⁶ m / s

c ) If this energy is given to a single electron and v is its velocity

1/2 m v² = 163.8 x 10⁻¹⁵

.5 x 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ v² = 163.8 x 10⁻¹⁵

v² = 36  x 10¹²

v = 6  x 10⁶ m/s

What is the equivalent resistance of the circuit?
Sonbull [250]

Answer:

80Ω

Explanation:

Resistance in a series circuit (when one resistor is after another in the same line) is calculated with the following equation

Total resistance = R1 + R2 + R3...Rn

Substitute in your values and solve for total resistance

Total resistance = 60 + 20 = 80Ω

if you're shopping for a rack switch, what component on the switch tells you it can be mounted to a rack?
Tatiana [17]

if you're shopping for a rack switch, the component on the switch that tells you it can be mounted to a rack is the:

  • Rack ears

<h3>What are rack ears?</h3>

Rack ears are L-shaped objects that can be used to hold a rack switch firmly to the support walls. Rack ears are often found at the front panel of the rack which is to be mounted.

When a person purchases a rack switch and finds the rack ears there, it is a signal that the item can be secured firmly to rails. Sometimes, the rack ears also appear as extensions.

If the resultant of two velocity vectors of equal magnitude is also of the same magnitude, then which statement must be correct?
Tamiku [17]

The correct option is C) The angle between the vectors is 120°.

Why?

We can solve the problem and find the correct option using the Law of Cosine.

Let A and B, the given two sides and R the resultant (sum),

Then,

R=A=B

So, using the law of cosines, we have:

R^{2}=A^{2}+B^{2}+2ABCos(\alpha)\\ \\A^{2}=A^{2}+A^{2}+2*A*A*Cos(\alpha)\\\\0=A^{2}+2*A^{2}*Cos(\alpha)\\\\Cos(\alpha)=-\frac{A^{2}}{2*A^{2}}=-\frac{1}{2}\\\\\alpha =Cos(-\frac{1}{2})^{-1}=120\°

Hence, we have that the angle between the vectors is 120°. The correct option is C) The angle between the vectors is 120°
